Short term value is alright, but in the long run Andersson hasn't lived up to the hype for this to make sense for the Leafs.

This trade doesn't make the Leafs better at all. If they move Nylander (which I certainly hope they don't) it needs to be for a #1 RHD.

not sleeping on him, but leafs have zero leverage in a trade. teams know the leafs need a #1RHD. Teams also know the team has marner and nylander is the expendable piece of the 2. Makes him less valuable to the leafs. which makes him less valuable in a trade situation.

big difference between jokiharju and a #1rd. Alex nylander has goal scorer potential that buffalo wasnt utilizing. Teams with extra defenseman either dont trade their extra defenseman or they trade the worst or most costly under performing one. they dont trade guys like parayko that have a great contract with term.

literally said in the post that i havent either. learn to read. your post said it wasnt how trades work. by most trade logic it kind of is. i would be flat out shocked if nylander got moved for a top pairing dman.
