I know that some of you are going to call me biased, but I really feel Jake Guentzel deserves to get more recognition than what he’s received. The guy is on pace for 45 goals and 85 points. He just keeps getting better. Also, Guentzel has the seventh most goals per game in the playoffs. That is absolutely insane, Guentzel is easily an elite first line forward. His hockey sense and ability to read the game is astounding. At this point we can no longer argue that he gets to play with Crosby and Malkin. Both players have performed at an even higher level when playing with Jake.

So now the real question is, who is the bigger talent, Jake Guentzel or Alexis Lafreniere?

Well, I have to admit, Lafreniere is going to be very good. Especially if he goes to DET and plays with Larkin and Mantha. Could be a 50 goal 120 point guy.

No he is not. he isnt even the conversation for best winger in nhl and not even in top 10. Look at his center and the other guy will be 100 point player in the NHL.

The "look at his centers" argument is stupid. If that was the case, why does dominik simon have 2 goals? He plays with crosby too, so that means he should be scoring goals also, right?

Yes. Sheary 2.0. Guentzel is more talented than sheary but without Crosby it malkin he’s a 40-50 point guy. He’s not able to support a line by himself. Good thing is that he’s on a team with both Crosby and malkin so it hardly matters

Yeah then he was playing like crap and they paired him with malkin haha the other elite talent

Nobody is saying he’s not good. He’s just a great complimentary winger. He isn’t like a Kane or Ovechkin that carry a line. He’s the one being carried
