They won't trade Bracco for Glendening. Cici is a cap dump because he WON'T resign in Detroit. Right now I'd keep Helm and possibly Abdeldkader over Gauthier at this point. I think maybe Green gets a 3rd at the TDL and currently Bernier is the only goalie the Wings have that can play a full game. Those draft picks spread out over 3 years are a joke. there just isn't a single way this is good for Detroit. Even if Toronto gives up Bracco for Glendening Detroit is still getting bent over and spanked.

Ya I know they won't do Bracco for Glendening. That was kind of a joke towards Babcock. But max we get for Green is a 2nd and Bernier is worthless to pretty much everyone except Toronto since they need a backup bad. So the fact that we get 2nd and a 3rd is almost fair. Yes maybe we could get picks just take away the 7ths which was a joke for my buddy.

Way to much to give up for Bernier. Green for Ceci seems like an even trade so why would the Leafs do it. Despite the rumours on CapFriendly, Ceci has been OK and hasn't been the worse Leaf Dman.
No room for Helm or his cap, even if Bracco never sees an NHL game. And Green ain't so special now.
I didn't see the first two periods last night. But like Sparks last year, the Leafs have played some of their worse hockey when Hutchinson plays. Would another back up change anything?

Maybe it's a slump with Howard but Bernier is at least keeping the Wings in games now. If Yzerman thought any one in Grand Rapids or Toledo could any better they would be playing and they like Larsson so they don't want to bring him up and risk ruining him before e is ready to play. I'd wait till Howard gets his head right first before trading Bernier 3 or 4 games to put it behind him and he will be ready to go.

When did I mention helm? Also, I'd take green over Ceci. He can help their PP. Also, helps TML's cap situation retaining half. Bernier isn't worth much at all his numbers have not been good over many years. The only thing I don't like about trading Bernier is that they won't trade howard at the deadline for picks.

Bring up Pickard and don't ruin Larsson. If Bernier is keeping Red Wings in games then I don't want him. Red Wings need to tank this year badly.

Sorry I meant Gleddening. Last year the Leafs had a good PP...especially the first 60 games because Marner played RHD. This year the Leafs haven't used Marner (now he's injured) in that position. Don't know why. It's all those other minutes a Dman plays which makes Green a detriment.
Gee if Barrie can't help the Leafs PP or even Nylander I don't know if the current edition of Green could help.
But these trades are much a continuation of last year. Seemingly any RHD is better than the Leafs. Gee Ceci has been better Barrie this year but it's this CapFriendly fascinationjust making trades for Ceci.

I get what you are saying, but chirping a team that everyone agrees is under performing and is still 2nd in the Atlantic seems a bit of a stretch. Take out the 2nd half of back to backs and the one game against Tampa, and then what? All these hot takes is too much. Its like the hockey world has become bipolar.

Any way you look at it Green, Daley and Ericsson are all gone at the end of the season. Bernier is a back up at best but he and Howard are the best the Wings have under pro contracts and Howard doesn't stay bad for long and it beats having to go out and give up assets for another teams 3rd goalie or you might be able to get someones backup but it would be expensive. Think about it Toronto has been looking for a decent backup and the assets they are offering are better than what the Wings can afford to offer. So moving a Bernier and Green for a cap dump and a bottom 6 player a 2nd next year and a 3rd the year after that, your going to spend about that maybe more for a goalie to get the Wings through the season. Take care of it in the offseason.
