Tolvanen is not the prospect he once was. I see him as a Puljujarvi type - high-risk, not someone you give a lot up for. Essentially the trade would be Kreider for a late first, which I think is fair (Tolvanen sweetens the deal) and I'll be the first to admit Kreider is not all he's cracked up to be, but he's a solid top-six winger who would be perfect in Nashville. What if it were Kreider + Strome for Tolvanen + 1st? Also, just remember Bruins gave up a 1st and Ryan Lindgren for a concussion-ridden, past-his-prime Rick Nash rental.

Ril amen isn’t elite anymore hasn’t shown to be elite. He actually has done nothing so far so honestly he looks like a bust I don’t know how that gets you Hall.

NSH can't afford to take both Kreider and Strome without giving some bigger contract in exchange, and they don't really have extra contracts to move.

Imo Tolvanen has still value, but in a top team like NSH it's difficult to break into the roster. I'd give him some time. Puljujärvi was a 4th overall pick and got rushed in to a team that was basically in crisis with how bad they were. Not exactly a sound comparable.

Rather hold onto tolvanen then trade him for a rental especially if we are adding onto him as well. Plus Nashville is currently near the top of the nhl in goals per game so I don’t really think goal scoring is a need that needs urgently addressed

Except they continue to be bullied by bigger teams in the playoffs, and would benefit from front net presence, and more speed is always good. Kreider possesses all those qualities.
