Description
let’s get the Manitoba boys rockin

Yeah I know there are more players I could bring back but tbh these three are the ones I focused on. Not sure how close edmunson deal is, could add another 300k

I kinda just threw this together quickly so I mean some contracts might be off.

If roslovic isn’t ready for 2c duties, swap him and little.

**this is all assuming Byfuglien is done, I’ll be doing a separate post in the situation of Byfuglien still playing**

Edit 1: decided to keep niku and not sign Edmunson, only way he makes sense for the team is if he takes a 1 year deal which he won’t.

I like the Hamonic and Reaves signings 100%. I would also like to see Edmundson with the Jets BUT I think that is dependent on how Niku progresses and if Samberg is ready to make the leap next year. Personally, I think a year in the AHL would be best development wise. Also, I wouldn't give up on Niku just yet.

Ouuu I didn’t even think about that, I do agree a year in the AHL might be good for samberg. That solves the niku trade. It’s weird to look at the Jets D after one year and think it actually looks solid. @rooney

I like the Hamonic and Reeves signings as well. Ive said this on the site before, but winnipeg loves a homecoming story. Whether it's Selanne, Ladd or even Grabner (jets thanked him for the years he was a Moose). Plus Hamonic and Reeves are solid role players and would make the team better IMO. Reeves coming in under or around 2 mill makes sense fora 4th liner. You'd like to get Hamonic around 5 for no more than 4 years as he is 29

I'd rather bring Chris Tanev home if we're looking for stay at home 2nd pairing RHD's.
Just because he's cheaper, his brother and him both like it here, and he played his AHL years in Winnipeg.

I'm not too sold on paying a 3LD 3.7 million dollars. Especially if Samberg turns into what people are projecting him to be.

But really, I think the guys you really would want to take a good long look at are Demelo from Ottawa and Gustafsson from Chicago.

This post was geared towards bringing Manitoba born players back to wpg. But I do agree with what you’re saying.

I wish we could get a guy like edmunson for under 2.5 but there’s no chance. Maybe just not signing edmunson makes more sense. Maybe a one year is more realistic? Stop-gap for samberg.

I think the jets need to add one top 4 guy and allow their younger guys develop

I edited and it makes more sense. Also allows us to have some cap room for laine extension.

I wonder if hamonic would come home cheaper, with more protection from expansion draft and movement. I wonder what the price is at expansion draft, for sea to pick who the jets want? Reaves would be interesting, I would be a little worried with Lowry and reaves in bottom 6, both a little slow, but definitely physical option box would have a check mark
