I'm not that high on Bracco, reminds me of Sprong a bit, I'll take him as payment for taking Ceci, then you're giving up a good young middle 6 F and a now overrated d spec Lilja for a legit top pairing Rd from a team that needs RD (making his value to them even higher) on a great contract and who is currently 3-1... Will they stay that way... Probably not, but I think they could be competitive this year, making Manson even less likely to be traded, and he's young enough that even if they decide to rebuild he'll still be on his prime by the time they come out of it

So obvs the Leafs would love this but the Ducks say no.

They need a strong RHD and thats what Manson is for them. The pieces coming back arent bad but the value isnt there

Manson was not at all good last season and wasn't really on anyones radar the season before and now he's an all-star worth a kings ransom. This is a short sighted trade and one that doesn't make much sense for TO.

Were talking about the same Manson here right? The one that was +34 2 years ago and isnt rven a points producing Dman. Just because he wasnt taken in tour fantasy league doesnt mean he isnt a top pairing partner defense. Also what "kings ransom" are you refering to?

Anaheim and Toronto suffer from the same defect: softness at RD. Here's who the Ducks have on the right side:

Josh Manson
Cam Fowler (playing on his off side)
Brendan Guhle (playing on his off side)
Michael Del Zotto (playing on his off side)
Korbinian Holzer (whom Toronto themselves deemed expendable years ago)

Whatever your opinion of his ability is, Manson is the sole NHL-quality right-handed defenseman Anaheim has, and there's no one in the system (unlike Toronto, who have at least four such prospects). Moreover, again, whatever your opinion of his quality is, Manson is better than Ceci is now and Liljegren is ever likely to be. And Anaheim has a wealth of young wingers, so the Ducks don't need Kapanen or Bracco, particularly since Jones may turn out to be better than Bracco.

In short, this is a quick No from Anaheim.

Oh yeah that one season where he did good playing with a superior partner and now he's a legit #1. Nope he is just another overblown good player. He's good but he has really 1 season to throw back too and it was 2 seasons ago.

Too bad Manson isn't available, And those pieces don't get him any ways. Start with Nylander at least.
