I’m honestly fine with finishing last in the central lol. Give me a top 5 pick. Cup is ours next year.

I wonder what the jets would do if they win the lottery and lafreniere is the #1 prospect. They don’t need any more wingers and byfield is a center

I still think they’d take lafreniere. If he gets picked by wpg. Ehlers becomes expendable and most likely gets moved for a top 4 dman and c prospect. Jets have a really good c prospect that showed up to camp this year in David Gustafsson. He easily should be our 4c right now and imo has 2c potential if he keeps progressing at this rate.

Ideally jets get #3 or #4 and select byfield. He’s a stud.

Yeah we have great offense this year and no defense so we are going to have a top 5 pick then next year we are going to be the top team in the league without addressing the defense.. logic seems reasonable

Jets need a 2C (more like a 1B) to play with their skilled wingers. Jets can trade for a D, sign one in FA.

It’s tough but I think I would trade down and select byfield (I think he goes #2). He has a 1C potential.

I didn’t even think about trading down. That would make sense. Could also get a prospect or pick from trading down as well.

Think about it this way, let the young guys play big valuable minutes this year, we have a stud defenseman coming out of college in samberg. If we lock in hamonic we will have about 3 guys fighting for spots in the roster. Unlike this year where we had to plug holes. Jets add honka this year and hamonic next year and their young guys take a step over this season and our blue line is right back to par. It only takes you getting in to win. Plus if we get a top 5 pick this year which is likely, we could fill another void with a real solid prospect.

All the Jets need to do to get a top 5 pick is miss the playoffs. Which, with their current roster, isn’t out of the question.

Speaking of the defense, what does the notation "NHL Non-Roster" mean with respect to Kulikov?

I'm not sure I would trade down. If Byfield keeps up with the season he's been having so far I think he'll go #1. For the Jets its not worth taking the chance that the team that holds #2 might actually prefer Byfield.

Yeah that’s not the logic I’m talking abt. If the defense is so bad right now that their offense cannot make up for it, how will be adding another good offense man but not addressing the defense lead to a cup next year?
