Johnny May waive knowing points going and nj has a good team set up. Points younger than hall, probably both demanding the same money so maybe nj swings for this. As well kuch is kuch even though he’s the hart winner he’s still underrated in terms of he can make a lot of Centres 80 point guys. And kuch is just hitting his prime now. So even though Point is really good, he’s not 9 or 10 mil good. Hall is tho

Might be a fair trade but an expensive Point puts the Devils over the cap and potentially quite a bit over with performance bonuses. Devils aren't trading for RFA rights.....they might trade for a signed contract of Point....for $$$ and term certainty.

It's an interesting trade but too bad it wouldn't make the Devils cap compliant. For Tampa tho this would be a "all in" move for one year only because affording Hall beyond this year is highly unrealistic.

So many teams can't make a trade and take on a lot more cap.

Take the Columbus offer sheet rumour. CBJ has 11.6m in cap space this year...Great, offer sheet Point. Then next summer there are no big expiring contracts and Dubois, Anderson and the two goalies have new contracts due. So now CBJ is in cap trouble and don't have the draft picks due to the offer sheet.

So it's essentially Hischier+2020 1st round pick for Point and a pending UFA Hall for Johnson. NJD can't afford Point and Tampa can't afford Hall long term. And fat chance of Johnson waiving for NJ any ways.
