I have often said this is one of the most likely places for JJ to land.
Detroit has a lot of very old and injury prone defense men. I know they want to say, we have prospects, but they don't have that many and they aren't ready.
I see Ericsson, Daley, DeKeyser and Green all out at some point.
They don't have 4 prospects, period.
If detroit gets an injury bug, and lets be honest in looking at that list, it's made of glass. They will be in need of help. As 3 of those contracts are expiring, you are looking at them looking for blue liners next year as stop gap.
It just makes too much sense for Detroit. Especially if they are going to move say Green at TDL if he's not injured.
My thing is, if this happens. Don't expect a return. What ever comes back it probably isn't of much value. That's ok the penguins need to clear the cap space, detroit is a team that has cap space to spare.
It's a win win. He easily replace one of their defense men next year and Detroit keeps a rebuild going.
