No retention. Canes over the cap. Retaining and signing Puju keeps them that way.

Canes are over cap by $1.5M. Moving Faulk @$3M puts them at $1.5M cap space, which is enough to sign Puljujarvi. If there is no retention, don't think Oilers can make it happen. I also added the 6th due to the retention.

I like the trade for both sides, the only thing that may get in the way is Faulk's 15 team trade list (and i doubt EDM is on it)

He has the Tampa Bay Lightning on his trade list, thats for sure. I just don't think we want him, but you never know... We rather get Pulju it seems wink

And almost nobody has Edmonton Oilers on his tradelist who is from USA i bet...

Legit question to you:
Makar - defensive rookie of the year? What do you think? Is he that good? Or can he be that good? He looked good in playoffs, but... Winking with Tongue Out

Also is your signature:"Cake Maker" a reference to him? tears of joy

Absolutely. I am so high on Makar. I think he can get 40-50 points - this may seem high for a rookie but keep in mind he is 20, almost 21, and is the most NHL ready prospect I can think of (Kakko and Makar are the clear top 2 imo). The only players I see challenging him for the Calder are Hughes and Kakko

Thanks for the answer!

Hughes naaaah shakes head , he needs a lot of time to be ready imo... NHL players will eat him for breakfast...

Kakko for sure ready, there will be only good things happening, when Kakko is on the ice awesome face

Can't wait to see these guys, only 25 days to go.

My secondary fav team from this year: Colorado Avalanche, so im gonna watch all 82 games this season, thats a total of 164 games minimum in regular season cheers

I also really hope Byram is playing sooner than everyone thinks haha nod You think he gets a chance in 2019?

Faulk is only signed for a year so i don't think the cap hit is a problem now that we're past FA. Carolina probably couldn't sign Pulju if they don't retain on Faulk.

Canes are in a win mean so they keep Faulk instead of trading for futures. Oilers probably aren't giving up any futures for a one year rental. And has indicated above...that M NTC makes an Oiler trade totally unpractical.
