No. WPG is not trading Laine to a division rival for such a lousy return. He's still extremely valuable asset for them despite having a rough, "only" 30 goal season.

Also if Laine would take a contract like that, WPG would have already signed him. They don't save money at all in this move, and after Gustafsson's contract expires after this year, they'd be absolutely screwed.

Yeah that keep getting worst and worst. Laine ad a very terrible year for is standard and he still got 30 goal playing only 17 minutes. Even with this down year is value is incredible. A 21 year old that already have a 100 goal under is belt. The price the jet would ask is a solid 2 nd line center, a left handed defenseman And top prospect all three under 24 years old plus pick of course

Yup and if that defenseman and top prospect don't have at least four years of term or RFA status then they need to keep adding.

I saw a laine trade that was melker karlson the only nhl players that was coming back from the shark the rest was top prospect they supposedly have. That was the ugliest proposal of them all

And the Sharks have a pretty weak prospect pool so that wouldn't be any good, probably trying to dump Dillon and Dell on the Jets too... Lol

Yeah i don’t remember who’s guys who day after day put a trade in place and always put melker karlson and barclays goodrow on a crazy trade and he always say the same
Thing melker is a top 3 centerman and goodrow is a established 4th liner both are very great players for the shark. Then i ask him if they where that great why you always try to get rid of them in your trade !! I’m still waiting for a answer ??
