Logic is: Ceci is RHD and the type of player Murray has traded for before- Eaves is one injury away from calling it a career- let’s assume Ducks ownership doesn’t want to pay Kesler, Perry and Eaves to not play hockey- so it’s a trade to bring a warm body back

?????. What makes you think the Ducks are paying Kesler and Eaves not to play? Leafs are weaker without Ceci. and inserting an AHLer in his place. Sure the Leafs can "keep" Marner at 11.450m. Couldn't they "keep" him at 10.250m?

I do admit that marner seems destined to be overpaid but I think it will be a mix of term/aav that allows the leafs to be competitive. I don’t think any gm in the league or informed fan wants to see dubas cave in.

Eaves has had a rough couple years. He won Moore’s pong tourney but I doubt he’ll play a full year, he didn’t answer questions about his health this summer

What I meant is Ceci played on a horrible team and still managed to get 26points, i was complementing him.

Dubas should let Marner sit and allow another GM to set the market, this whole game of rfa's and owners waiting to see Dubas potentially overpay another star player is stupid.
