I think Petry would get my nod from the Habs. He plays alot of minutes and filled in very well when Weber was injured.

Drouin is a guy who's just downright frustrating, you know he's got the talent but can't seem to put it together for extended periods of time.

Have you been paying any attention to CF? He gets traded for nothing all the damn time. Had a guy offer Jensen and a 2nd for him a month ago. There is a media narrative about him that way too many people buy into that he sucks when he really doesn't. His underlying metrics say that he isn't all that far off from Marner.

It's really hard to pick an underrated leaf's player given how much attention they get. In saying that, Nylander's awful season created a lot of hate for him so I guess you can say he's not as bad as people thought he was this year.

i think grzelcyk has to be the guy from the bruins. I honestly don't see another option on that team. I think picking Mark Stone is underrated is a little odd. Everyone knows how unreal he is.

It wasn't just one guy, that was just one example of others opinion of him.
And metrics are incredibly important in player evaluation. In fact they are the single most important aspect of it in the modern NHL. So what the hell do you mean 'who cares?' A huge portion of NHL teams including the Leafs who spend a small countries GDP on their analytics department along with the rest of the NHL who have large departments as well. Boston's coach referenced checking analytics during a conference during the playoffs last year.

Does he produce when he should no? was he trash in the playoffs yes. Does he play to the outside which will never translate to playoff hockey? yes... thats all u need to know

100% about Petry. This season Idk what Coach Richardson said to him but he also become a more complete defensemen. 46 pts in 82 games while playing with kulak/benn/rielly. Also Weber get all the PP time so most of his points (10 goal 24 assists for 34 pts) are on 5v5.

I think Orlov is a perfect choice for the Caps. Lot of fans think he's a weak link, but he has been solid since the day he started. Plays much bigger than he is and has a cannon of a shot. I expect him to have a huge bounceback year with Niskanen gone.

I have to agree with someone above...Mark Stone is not underrated. He's an absolute stud and everyone knows it. I think if I were to choose a Golden Knight who is underrated, I'd go with Theodore. He really has become a top-flight LHD.
I agree with your inclusion of Schenn on this list. I base that off of many of the ACGM trades I see on here low-balling the Blues. He is a very good center who brings much more to a team than just points. His intangibles are hard to place a value on, but they are very real if you watch him play.
Lastly, I think the days of Horvat, Morrissey, Anderson, and LeBanc being underrated are very short.

I’d be interested to hear why you picked Josh Anderson from Columbus, I feel like there’s others who are more underrated from Columbus, like Savard, Folingo, and Atkinson all come to mind as players who are better then most people give them credit for, Bjorkstrand is another name that is underrated now, but with an increased ice time and better playmaking forwards he could end up having a big year with them, as every year he’s been in the league he’s hitting more goals and points, and it’s just a matter of time before he takes off and hopefully reaches the 30 goal mark.

very good picks! my only differences would be Tuch instead of Stone (I think a selke nomination and being the biggest piece trade at the TDL kind shows hes not underrated anymore) and Tyler Johnson instead of Palat (though this is just personal preference).
