Definitely not the best Defence in the world lol. EK65 will probably not sign for less than $10M and I think the reason Ghost was on the block was because they have too much money on Defence and wanna have room for Myers and Sanheim to play bigger minutes, they probably aren't looking to take Petry back. Drouin for Ghost might get it done tho?

I don't think Petry and Ghost are far off in terms of quality right now. But I don't think a 2nd and Evans is enough to make up for the 5 years in age difference and 2 extra years of control at a great cap hit.

I see two offensive minded D men in a system/coach that doesn't allow for that. I see two aging D men on long expensive contracts - both with injury history. Kulak is a fringe NHL d man (6th or 7th). Mete and Juulesen are both young and TDB

In no particular order: Carolina, Boston, Nashville, STL, CBJ, Minn, ANA, Tampa, Cal & Dallas - outside top 10

Im gonna try to keep my cold blood, you know nothing about hockey, at all. Kulak played all year like a top4 defenseman, so he’s at worst a 5th defenseman. Mete played 120 matchs in the NHL & he’s 20yo. Playing top pairing at 19-20 yo. Juulsen was a 1st round pick & definitely can play on the last pairing. Nice try ?

No teams will pay 11M for Karlsson. He’s horrible defensively & can’t stay healthy. 9M nothing more, or he can choose another team.

Lol. It seems you know nothing about hockey. Kulak played 57 games with a coach who will always have his GA low. Always. He is a bottom pairing D man at best. You did not make the playoffs, so maybe he was playing a top 4 role, but he shouldn't have been. I am not sure what you are complaining about Mete and Juulsen - they both are young and TBD. I will grant you Mete has shown well, but there are a few things that should concern you - He does not hit & he turns the puck over. His possesion numbers stumbled from 53-54% to 49% when Claude stopped protecting him and his Ozone/Dzone starts evened out from 60/40 to 48/52. I would take that as a promising sign that Claude trusts him in the D zone now. I think both will be good NHL dmen.

    Debatable,

"injury history" Weber just got his first injury in a while... took him out for a year and he is back 100%, Karlsson was injured at the end of the season... not unusual.

CJ whole thing this season was the fast pace counter-attack and zone entry... offensive minded D is exactly what we need.

Karlsson is 28 chill, he will be good till 35, and Weber is like Chara,

Kulak was a stud last season... Mete has been playing on the top pair at fkn 19... can't score a goal but still has the best +/- in the team. Juulsen is up and coming... just can't catch a break... (got two pucks under the eye...)

I think MTL would be on par with most teams you named except a few. After this offseason when Tampa will be in cap hell (if they sign Point) with only so decent LHD but random RHD... MTL's defense might be better than theirs.

Weber is not like Chara. Chara did not have knee injury/surgery at 33 years old & they have much different body styles. Weber is much thicker. Both incredibly strong, but Chara is much leaner. I don't know Weber's off season workout, but I also doubt it involved doing the tour de france route for fun.

Claude wants to win 0-0. Yes, he was sort of forced to be a little more offensive because of the direction the game is going, but I agree it's what you need, I don't think he would utilize them properly.

I am not sure Karlsson will be "good". He has never been strong defensively and his game is almost all skating. and he effectively has one leg now. Even if he heals 100%, He'll still be good, but not 2015-16 ever again. He is 29, not 28, but when you are talking about signing to that term, a year can matter. I just think he changed the game and now there are a bunch of Karlsson's in the league.

again, I would warn about jumping on the Kulak train. Adam Mcquaid was top 5 in the NHL in +/- his rookie year under Claude. I love Mcquaid, but that was a red herring.

The Weber-Chara comparison is about play style : they are not based on speed or agility... but with good positioning, hockey IQ and reliability

I mean, Sanheim and McDonald have played on the right all year so it doesn't seem like they have a problem with it, no need to insult.
