Granted Hughes and Kappo got #1 and #2, though the order is not a certainty. Chicago drafts #3 and based on Seabrook and Keith still being as important as they are to the Blackhawks, even with Boqvist and Beaudin in the feeder system, Byram has to be considered at #3. With the 4th pick, Sakic might opt for Podzolkin or one of the young centres (Dach, Cozens or Turcotte), but the D is also a work in progress with Girard, Makar and Timmins all pushing their way in. Now, if Byram does fall to be available at #5, there's a good chance the Kings take him. But if there's a run on the centres, L.A. might feel the need to seize the moment and take a C, especially if they're worried about Vilardi's long-term health.
That's my long way of saying that Byram could go as early as #3 and could just as easily fall as far as #6 or 7.
