Nice Troll, but Boqvist is good but not the biggest steal.

Psst, Dylan Strome is riding a league best on-ice shooting percentage and will almost certainly regress and Adam Boqvist didn’t dominate junior hockey this year (He’s still very very good though.) However, Debrincat is incredible and they also absolutely killed the 2018 draft with Kurashev and Nordgren in the middle rounds.

Boqvist certainly dominated tonight (that’s why I made the post) London Knights only 4 goals not on an empty net we’re all his, and yeah it’s juniors but the way he found open ice in the playoffs tonight was awesome (two of the goals were on the Powerplay but never the less)

I didn’t say Boqvist was a steal, I mean 8th overall is hardly stealing anyone but wow you shoulda seen his performance tonight

Yeah but I’ve had this debate with many EDM fans that I just don’t see Bouchard as a dynamic offensive player like Boqvist, he plays a smarter more responsible game and moves the puck up the ice really well (all extremely important qualities) and has a very high ceiling as a two way defenseman, for instance he got an assist on both of Bouchards first two goals by making a simple pass very well and then watching the sparks fly as Boqvist made fancy plays to get it home. Idk why EDM fans argue this as theoretically this type of play could lead to a better career for Bouchard than Boqvist will have but they get upset anyways

I think this is a really good analysis. It's Boqvist's 1st year in the OHL and Bouchard's 4th year. That's more important than EDM fans give that credit. The smaller ice has proven to be a ZERO factor in Boqvist's game and it really can be a concern for international players preventing them from being NHL players. That part alone isn't a knock on Bouchard at all. It's just eliminating one of the concerns about Boqvist @ the draft last year. Bouchard definitely plays a better 2-way game right now. Boqvist is definitely a more athletic and dynamic scorer. I think the rub right now is (2) fold. Being dynamic at something in the OHL will probably allow you to be just good at something in the NHL. Being a better 2-way player in the OHL doesn't mean you're going to be a solid 2-way player in the NHL, BUT FOR THE RECORD...I most definitely think he will. So that's 1 rub, that Boqvist right now will translate better for an NHL game that's transitioning more offensively. The part is kinda two-fold in itself. Not only was Boqvist picked over Bouchard in the same draft......He went to Bouchard's freakin OHL team! What kinda of junk is that?! We're going to have this competition and then we're playing together?! I wasn't happy about that at all because I was concerned it would affect both their development. I was wrong and it's worked out just fine. I am however concerned about Boqvist's defensive ability. He did indeed have (4) goals last night. It was fun to see. He was also on the ice for (2) of the (3) goals against. That's not great. Boqvist needs to work on his defensive side, but I wouldn't be surprised with Boqvist proving his offensive fire power that Gus get's shipped out for a different area of concern.

Obviously an exaggeration, but the future is bright for sure. Gonna be really interesting to see how everything shakes out, especially with Keith and Seabrook unwilling to waive their NMCs. Blueline is gonna get really crowded soon....
