I think 8.5-9 is reasonable for EK. It would put him right with Subban as the highest paid d-man in the league.

I really dislike that Barrie trade. We get almost no significant value coming back. Cotter is an insignificant prospect and fucale is an unproven goaltender. There isnt enough value coming back to the Avs. Also VGK doesnt have cap space to take on big contracts anyway.

And as everyone else commented above, Karlsson will make more money than that and Duchene probably would not come back to COL
