Zdeno Chara has signed a new contract with the Boston Bruins.

This'll probably be another Joe Thornton situation where he takes one-year deals until he's ready to retire. So Boston can keep him on the cheap for the rest of his career while he's still very effective. Helps them out a bunch

almost 4 mil cap hit lots of people thought he was coming back at 2 million.

I honestly don't even think it's a good signing. He's so slow at this point and the offense suffers from him not being able to jump into the play. So many boston fans talk about all the youth they have in the defense. This just shows that they either don't have that much talent in the youth or they don't trust it.

Just yesterday I posted how the Leafs should steal Chara from the Bruins in the off season, I guess someone from the Bruins management saw that idea and quickly resigned Chara.

Decent signing, Chara's going to get 1 year contracts until he retires.

He's basically a lock to get 2 bonuses (10 GP and making the playoffs).

So his cap-hit is gonna be $3,500,000 .... and it's possible that $1,500,000 spills over onto Boston's 2020-21 salary cap.

You do know come playoff time the refs allow the slow big monsterous pylons like Chara to dominate the game with clutch and grab, hack and whack cheap shots.

The cap hit is 2 mill, aav is 3,75.

Cap hit is only 2 Million until he hits those bonuses
