What is the trade value of Shayne Gostisbehere?

I'm asking for opinions. Hypothetical trade offers are much appreciated.

Well if Muzzin garnered a 1st and 2 solid prospects, I would say a fair amount more than that. He is young and on a great contract.

My thoughts exactly. Just discussed with an EDM fan who said Ghost is worth a 2nd and I was pretty confused...just had to have a confirmation from a PHI fan that I'm not overvaluing him.

Ghost, Prov, Sanheim, and Myers has potential to become one of the best top 4s in the entire game in probably 2 or 3 years. I wouldn't move any of them

I wouldn't say a "fair amount more than that". Gostibehere may have a longer contract, but he's purely offensive. I'd say right around a 1st and a couple prospects is still more than fair for him

A young top 6F would be ideal.

The thing is that we don't need more picks and prospects.

If his value was only a 2nd he would have been gone by now .......

He’s worth more than muzzin. He’s young has term and signed to a fair contract.... very fair imo.

Return on Ghost would be considerably more than what Muzzin went for. I think it would be more similar to what McDonagh went for. Not saying he's as good as McDonagh, but he's younger, has more term left on his deal and is cheaper.

Also fans who say he's purely offensive don't know hockey. He's by no means a great defensive defenseman, but what he does really well is control the puck, and the other team can't score when they don't have the puck. I'd take him over some huge lumbering defenseman who never controls the puck but is great at blocking shots or doing any of the other things that casual fans associate with "great defensive defenseman" any day.

He may be able to control the puck when he gets it in open space but he can't separate ANYONE from the puck. I watch nearly every game and he is a complete liability in our zone.

If Adam Larsson can get a team the league mvp, then he can get a team anyone. Gostibehre is no where close to mvp. Lucic is pretty bad right now. Lucic and Larsson = gostibehre.
