Description
I believe NYR could get more value in the trades being listed, but I don't want to get some of the Capfriendly natives riled... Not that they're wrong, just nobody knows for sure what the availability of supply & demand will be a few hours before the TDL concludes...

For example, last season NYR did not get as much for McDonaugh & Miller as hoped. But it was the best deal offered by any nhl team and NYR "had" to take the deal for signing the two like TBL did right away, was out of the question. The main reason NYR "had" to settle is because Karlsson was not traded until after TDL causing the supply & demand to work against NYR in the final hours.

I believe there's a good chance a similar situation could occure again this year except with Hayes & others... For example if Dushene and some other centers are not traded at the TDL, NYR will get much less for Hayes than if there was a scarcity of centers causing nhl teams to scramble trying to get one just prior to the TDL concluding. Same senerio as well with players at other positions trying to be traded at the TDL.

Cap doesn't work for some teams, this year and next. By historical standards Rangers are getting far too much in return. Bennett is probably as a good Zuccharello now and isn't soft.

Broken record but...Jets not trading Vesalainen.

1st and Vesa for Hayes has become the new Nylander for Pesce.

Jets are in cap hell with Laine/Conner/Trouba all coming due. They can’t trade potential replacement for rental.

Avs are not trading the Ott pick and that trade would never happen for either side. Rangers wouldn't giver up all that for a lottery pick and the Avs cant just take on 4 roster players, there are things called contract limits, future cap space, etc

Clicking a random selection of assets doesn't mean it'd a good trade for either side

I think you're giving up way too much for that lottery pick, Hughes or Kakko aren't gonna come in and have the instant impact like McDavid or Matthews have.

What do you think Zibenejad alone is worth?

Only way Jets even consider trading Vesalainen is if it’s for Duchene imo.

Touché , glad the consensus feels it's too much.

Stanley included in the trade instead of Vesalainen?

Would you put Stanley in the same catagory you mentioned as Vesalainen?

Colorado seems to have enough cap space and the players aquired are not rentals. Looking at COL roster, these four players would help them tremendously. Though odds are your correct regarding COL not trading the pick and NYR not trading so much for the pick.

The Avs have 47 contracts currently, and they will be at 48 when it comes to Makar this season once he is done. You can't just have 52 out of 50 contracts with this trade. So Avs would have to tear down and give away some players just to make it work.

There is no logic to the players you picked either, its just a weird trade that I dont think neither team would do

I think that would be a lot more of a possibility

Stanley should be in place as a trade piece for the Jets, his value is nowhere near as high as Vesalainen is, imo he'll be a bust so if the Jets can move Stanley to fill a need they should.
