Unfortunately Nick has reverted into a the loudest talking head on Sportsnet, Quantity and volume is his forte. He will be getting lots of competition from Brian The Brian Burke, who believes he is smartest person on the planet, and really detests that he has just become a talking head instead of NHL commissioner or more. Don't know how Kyp and Burke could ever fit into the same room.
Maybe it's just me, but many analysts should be retired after about four years. They just run out of constructive things to say. Bring in other guys, who at least will have a different outlook.

I'm not going to pretend that I have the ratings in front of me, but my feeling is that Sportsnet is desperate for hockey numbers compared to TSN. For NHL Trade deadline, I'm 99% sure significantly more people watch TSN's coverage compared to Sportnet's - same with July 1st too. Other than Saturday nights, when CBC has the coverage rights, TSN 's viewership must be higher than Sportsnet despite them only having regional game rights. I just find TSN has more credibility and better presentation compared to Sportsnet, but I could be biased. Yes, TSN does do some gimmicky things at times, but for the most part their content is sound and not as inflammatory. I don't mind Marek and I like Elliott Friedmann a lot, but Kyper is there to *try* and boost ratings by throwing out garbage takes.

I sometimes wonder if Kypreos tried to follow in Bob McCown’s footsteps early in his broadcasting career and simply makes ridiculous, unfounded comments just to get a rise. Seems mostly lazy to me.
