HEAR ME OUT!!! It's no secret that NY is in trouble on defense. Boston has their solution. Swap a late 1st for a late 2nd, Aho is more of an overage prospect, but he could become decent. Beauvillier is the only one I could see being a problem, but the price should be high for 2 shut down D-men that NY really needs.

Détails additionnels:
We eat Bolland's contract, then place him on waivers, to get Backes off the books. We then flip an OK prospect, a depth player, and the second from NY for a better player. And with ARZ getting Schmaltz, Dvorak is getting less ice time than what he deserves.

Why not just put Bolland on LTIR? Clears all 5.5 instead of list 1.1. Also no way Backes waives for Zona

The Arizona one is decent but you still have the problem of Backes’ NMC. The islanders one seems like a huge overpayment from the bruins end and don’t think they’d trade the guy they just signed for 5 years and their last true tough guy

Fair point on LTIR, but there's only 1 year left on the deal so it's not the worst thing to just bury him in Providence for a few months then let him walk as a UFA. And I think Backes would sign waive for ARZ because he's almost guaranteed more ice time while still having a shot at the postseason. And if they do make the playoffs, the East is currently a harder conference to get through, so he would have a better chance out west, and I don't believe that he's won a Cup yet, so he'll want to take the risk, in my opinion.

Connor Clifton= true tough guy. And the Bs have a surplus of D-men that can replace Moore now AND they have more good prospects coming up. Aho is a project, but Beauvillier fits the bill for some depth to help a postseason run, and he's young and can most likely become a part of the core. I don't see either Miller or Moore as key peices to the team when 100% healthy, so I don't think it's entirely unrealistic to see them leave.

If he’s a depth piece, and you have him on the fourth line, why in the world would you give up a first round pick?

I see it as more of a long-term investment. It's no secret that the B's have a problem with upcoming FA's this year, and while Beau is on an expiring deal, he's not gonna ask for a huge amount of cash. The end game is that the B's SAVE MONEY for the offseason in order to keep the core intact, and Beau can become a part of that core. A 1st is a stretch, I'll admit, but I needed a 2nd to make the other trade more realistic.

They just signed Moore to a 5 year deal. They are not trading him.

Also I don't think the Isles really need D. They have been very good. They are 6th in the league in goals allowed. Pelech, Pullock and Mayfield are all 24 or under & they Leddy and Boychuk.

Sure, most teams could use more or a Stud #1 but you are not sending that to them. You are sending them guys that will slow the progress of their young guys.

Hell no on the isles deal. Not sure you understand how valuable Moore has been. I get it but no.

Backes does not waive for Zona.

Maybe just my opinion... but Moore was very solid so far. With a rising cap hit and a constant performance he could turn out as a real steal. Until now he was a steal in my opinion, I like him. I would not trade him away, although Lauzon and Clifton have done a good job as well.
