Description
Can we please stop with the Nylander trades....Toronto isn’t going to trade him for anything less then what he’s worth in trade value but also won’t sign him for anything more then 6.5 mil. For some reason Nylander and The NHL are so far apart where no one was willing to sign him to what he wanted...... so please stop with these crazy trades, Nylander isn’t going to be traded. Thank you.

After watching the latest insider trading there are very few teams that can even afford Nylander. This year's cap hit on a long term deal is going to be just under 10 or higher.

Or no one signed him to an offer sheet because they don’t want to give up 2 firsts, a second and a third or possibly 4 firsts.

If he wasn’t signing for anything more than 6.5M than why isn’t it done already. He’ll get closer to what he wants and if TOR doesn’t come up he’ll be on another roster come December 1st.

agree with you about it being fun, chances are IMO is he's going to be traded he didn't just holdout over a month to get the deal he was trying not to get and the leafs aren't going to overpay or let him sit the season so he'll b traded, for what is what I can't answer, I've even heard they're not demanding a top 2 RHD.

I think most likely he signs with the leafs by dec. 1, next likely scenario is he sits, the least likely is a trade.

many hockey insiders have said him sitting is almost zero percent, and why? what a waste of time on a player that doesnt know his worth

Say he goes back to Sweden, will he forever be RFA or after his 3 RFA seasons pass does he become UFA?

5 seasons. I doubt he wants to piss his career away. If he sits a season he comes back with less leverage and still no arb rights.

But then he just waits for Marner’s contract and ends up getting close to what he wants.

Of course when he does sign a deal with the Leafs, the Nylander trades WILL continue, obviously because the only reason the Leafs signed him is to trade him for cap reasonsConfused .

Not when marner blows him away this season... his worth may go down depending on what marner signs.

And how many times a day are the insiders wrong? They have zero information and have been pulling numbers and trades out of their asses. Why will dubas not continue to hold firm? Nylander for sure is a great player and a big part of our team’s future, but we have a ton of offensive depth. We will not over pay him and we will not sell low on him.

They only way his worth comes down is if marner signs cheap.

I don’t get why Leaf fans are so against trading Nylander. You have 2 elite C and a high end 2C in Kadri. They’ll take up somewhere around 24M in cap space next season so they can’t even afford an elite RD so what’s wrong with a top 4 RD and a top 9 fwd +? Say nylander signs and the leafs come up short this season you may be able to keep everybody but there isn’t enough space to add anything of significance.

Also I know it’s not apples to apples based on contract status and age and everything but Skinner is a really good winger and he got virtually nothing for CAR. Wingers seem to be the bottom of the value chart when they’re the key piece of trade.

Marner will have extra season with above 60 point to his leverage when going for contract.....Nylander will have a sitout......hes great player and all but hes 7x7M max ( pasternak comparison + lunch money on the top cause of cap rise and inflation )...regardless what his dad, his agent and his dog thinks.

If you ask me kid is victim of his "environment", if he would have a main word in his "team" he would be on the ice on 3rd Oct....exactly what the GOTA said few days ago........

I think they will trade it 99%, so i think you should just accept it...
Tavares+Matthews+Kadri+Nylander nope, not gonna happen, too expensive these 4 together next year.
Some team will sign him for around 8 mill and toronto gets in return some respectable players and/or some mediocre draft picks.(2nd+ rounds). They will probably wait with the trade until last day though, so ...
BTW Marner will be expensive as well...
Leafs in similar shoes to tampa next year, need to get rid of some really good players... it's sux i know...
