fair enough. I highly doubt MTL moves Lindgren, not for another 2-3 years at least until Primeau leaves the NCAA. Scherbak right now is an interesting case. He can't crack the roster but it's almost an opposite reason of Bennett. The only place Scherbak would fit would be in the top 6-9. Offensively he's legit (it's rare that a player scores 2 goals in 4 pre-season games yet can't crack the lineup). Defensively is where he's got problem's. Due to the Habs depth at the wing right now, there's no spot for him top 9 (Drouin LW, Tatar LW, Byron LW, Gallagher RW, Lehkonen RW, Armia RW) and no way Julien will use him on his 4th line, where he wants defensively responsible guys (Hudon LW, Shaw RW). Habs would love to send Scherbak down to work on his Defensive game, but with waivers that's now impossible.
I could see a deal centered around Bennett and Scherbak, and with Bennett's pedigree as a high draft choice I'd agree MTL would have to add, but I personally wouldn't go as far as Lindgren.
i think trading for bennet puts us in the same position we are in with Scherbak .
in all honesty both teams need to subtract not add
i think ARZ is the most logical place , they got Dauphin who's having issues in the west as a regular but might step up in the east .
ARZ could afford to take another Winger especially one who has Chemistry with Galchenyuk .
Dauphin already cleared Waivers and doesnt need to clear them again
due to injury he was just brought back up so there is a need on ARZ wing
with Crouse ,Perlini and Fischer all struggling as waiver exempt players it would benefit ARZ having Scherbak up .
Strome is doing on 4th C so Dauphin is their 13th forward anyways as ARZ built their strength around Center Depth
