As an outsider I like the idea of it.
Don't really know anything on the value tho.

It is all about future value which is random. Contract wise, it helps Calgary. Prospect wise, both players have upswing.

I would prefer Lindgren over Scherbak as he obviously has no chance starting there with Price locked in long term

Can a flames fan please explain to me why Bennett isn't working out? What's the issue?

He seems like he tries hard an does everything you can ask out of a guy. Just seems like he is one of those guys who was a dominant junior but can’t translate it to the NHL. If he’s been a 6th rounder CGY would be thrilled they have a solid bottom 6 guy, but since as a high first that’s what he’s become it’s viewed as a failure

Given up Lindgren isnt happening .
he's not a Starter anyone who thinks he is hasnt followed his Career .
he's a Dominant player but he's never played a full Schedule and his first AHL season was the only time he had to play a grueling NHL like Schedule which he was destroyed in .
its not gotten much better for him either as Conditioning is the big issue with Lindgren and why he didnt get more money despite MTL being so happy with him they signed him mid season to a 3 year deal that see's him make 750 K no matter what league he's in

Charlie will take 1-2 AHL seasons and 1-2 years under Price to get to the Conditioning level to be a starter at which time he'll be 27-28.
Charlie is a solid goalie prospect we need to keep if all we're getting in Bennet the Bust

if Lindgren's involved its Jakowski or no one

I think Benneth would be a good risk. Another team could make him a second Taylor Hall or trash... I don't know. We will have to move Sherbak anyway. I predict a couple of injury if Mtl loses to LA.

yeah but there are other teams with players they risk losing on Waivers either this year or next they would move who are better for MTL

Kossila in ANA
Morin in PHI
Gourde in TBL is a pending UFA on a team with barely enough cap to pay him now
Dal Colle in NYI
Dauphin in ARZ

Dauphin is probably the best swap for both teams giving them each what they need

fair enough. I highly doubt MTL moves Lindgren, not for another 2-3 years at least until Primeau leaves the NCAA. Scherbak right now is an interesting case. He can't crack the roster but it's almost an opposite reason of Bennett. The only place Scherbak would fit would be in the top 6-9. Offensively he's legit (it's rare that a player scores 2 goals in 4 pre-season games yet can't crack the lineup). Defensively is where he's got problem's. Due to the Habs depth at the wing right now, there's no spot for him top 9 (Drouin LW, Tatar LW, Byron LW, Gallagher RW, Lehkonen RW, Armia RW) and no way Julien will use him on his 4th line, where he wants defensively responsible guys (Hudon LW, Shaw RW). Habs would love to send Scherbak down to work on his Defensive game, but with waivers that's now impossible.

I could see a deal centered around Bennett and Scherbak, and with Bennett's pedigree as a high draft choice I'd agree MTL would have to add, but I personally wouldn't go as far as Lindgren.

i think trading for bennet puts us in the same position we are in with Scherbak .

in all honesty both teams need to subtract not add
i think ARZ is the most logical place , they got Dauphin who's having issues in the west as a regular but might step up in the east .
ARZ could afford to take another Winger especially one who has Chemistry with Galchenyuk .

Dauphin already cleared Waivers and doesnt need to clear them again
due to injury he was just brought back up so there is a need on ARZ wing
with Crouse ,Perlini and Fischer all struggling as waiver exempt players it would benefit ARZ having Scherbak up .
Strome is doing on 4th C so Dauphin is their 13th forward anyways as ARZ built their strength around Center Depth
