Result based on Karlsson rumor

(I think it's an overpayment IF the Devils are on the hook for the entire Ryan contract. If they can manage to get him discounted to in the 5-5.5M range, totally worth it. Otherwise, a piece needs to come off the Devils side (and probably drop the 3rd round pick from the Ottawa side, as well)

Best possible package for the Sens in this scenario. The fact that NJ has the cap space and the pieces to receive Karlsson AND Ryan, I think it's a good fit.

I would also much rather see both in Sens uniforms for a long time. Unfortunately, Uncle Eugene likes 1.2 million dollar 6th-7th defenseman...

And, if you were to trade Karlsson, that they would maximize the return.

he is not, Ryan was only mentioned with ONE team to go with EK and that Vegas at last season TDL, Ryan is going to be a Sens till he is bough out or traded in his last 1-2 years with salary retained.

Maybe the Sens leaked this

Apparently things have heated up since Pacioretty was traded

If the Sens did leak this, I'd bet it's because they're hoping to trade Karlsson to the Western Conference because EK will be salt in the wound of Melnyk's ownership for years to come
