Not at all. He has a point. Moving out some of the contracts, sure some of it makes sense. Not taking back roster ready players when you're contending is odd. And then there is the whole, we are not rebuilding anymore, so why do we need all those picks. Finally, how are you signing those players for 1mill per? Everyone has a point to respond to this negatively, it just does not make any sense.

What if Matthews and his agent say they wont accept anything less than the same deal as McDavid?
not being a d-bag here, but its a legit question/situation. his agents job is purely to get him the best deal he can. and he, i would think, has some good arguments as to why he would deserve or even warrant the same kind of cash and term. It could be an interesting development.

1. The picks should be used to acquire players good players on good contracts.
2. The $1,000,000 signings are to show how much cap space we have available (to make those signings / trades). W have $26,000,000.
3. No point of actually making all the signings and trades because no one ever agrees on trade value / contract value.

So there's are situation and you can fill in the blanks. Not rocket science.

Then he can sit out a year and lost $10,000,000 and embarrass himself in-front of the world.

Mathews has a few questions around him as to what type of guy or player he wants to be. That being said, he is a guy that wants to win, he wants to play with the best in the world and he wants to be the best. He has a chance to be on a leafs team that can and will contend for the next decade. He will be playing with two of the brightest young players in Marner and or Nylander. He will be learning from one of the most elite centers/players on the planet. Finally he has one of the best coaches and organizations at his back. The real question is, why wouldn't he want to sign and after seeing JT take a 2 million dollar pay cut to join the leafs and not hurt the core, why wouldn't he take a pay cut or even a bridge deal. 5 years at 8?, that means he could go for another contract similar to JT and get his 11-13 mill a year when the cap goes up and he has a couple rings on his finger.

Here come the offersheets.

It seems like you're the one who's getting a bit "salty".

Lets be truthful here....you're not not a big fan of the Leafs newfound success?

You do seem to have a lot of answers though....so I'm hoping you can help me figure a few things out:

1. Why hasn't Nylander signed an offer sheet yet? (word on the street was that Nylander would get tons).

2. How many teams will have the cap space (and desire) to offer Matthews $13,000,000 plus? (while giving up four 1st round picks for the privilege).

3. How many GM's believe the Leafs wouldn't match 100% of offers out of principle? (even if they have to trade Matthews, they won't let someone steal him).

4. How many GM's would commit career suicide for something with a 99% failure rate? (do you want your industries most powerful company out to get you?)

"Not being a d-bag here, but they're legit questions".... so please help a brotha understand?

I'm actually just sarcastically quoting your original post....which didn't have any sarcasm....which made it less redeeming.

Do you have any answers though?
