Just so im not removing names for nothing, can you guys elaborate? What makes Pesce better than those guys?

shattenkirk can barely play D and is nothing special on the powerplay compared to the other guys on the list. Pesce is a good two way D man and i just see shatenkirk as decent powerplay guy that will hgurt you in your own end. RISTO IS WAY BETTER THE PESCE.

The normal stats just show risto better because of points so it wont work

There's more into that then just points which can be deceiving. Buffalo is a garbage team these past years and Risto plays the most of any defender on the team. That has to be taken into account. Plus although this is a little subjective even though honest unbias opinion of a player through the eye test can be a good indicator also.


Anyways my point is you could make up a team of fancy stat starlets and still not make the playoffs. It isn't a guaranteed science so you must look at other factors including fancy stats, to get a well rounded opinion on a player.

better than colin miller. Risto is for sure better, everyone loves hating him but if you watch him objectively you see he is very good

Personally think miller is better but what makes you think Pesce is better than Miller? Agreed on Risto, he plays for a shite team. Much like OEL in Arizona. Put these guys on playoff calibre teams and they'd be much better in terms of public opinion.

Pesce is crazy under rated because he doesn't give you the flash of the offensive stars. He plays strong in both ends and just makes plays.

He is not to the calibre of guys like Doughty at this point. But give him a year or 2 more and I am pretty certain he is listed as a true elite 2 way defender. His possession numbers push those that are currently at the top of the position as do his minutes and he plays a physical style and still has the legs to move with quick forwards. He is 3 years in the league now and is just beginning to crack his potential.

But trying to compare guys like Pesce to guys that are pure offense just doesn't work for true comparison. But when it comes to shut down guys, like true shut down guys Pesce is among the better guys in the league.

The goal was to find where Pesce fits right now among all RHD dmen. I understand that isn't easily done but when you get people saying Pesce is a top 5-10 RHD in the league, I say prove it. because I don't believe it.
