Minny declines.

Brodin > Krug

Zucker > Heinen

2nd rnd pick does not make up that difference and they have 4RD on main roster that are better than Miller, no need for him.

Idk how you make out Brodin to be better than Krug. That's just off to me. #3 compared to #37 ranked lhd by corsica, so even if you account for teammates etc it's not even close

Love Krug. But he is a liability in his own end.

Carlo and Forsback Karlsson + for Zucker and Brodin.
I have zero interest in Krug!

Brodin is not better than Krug. That is a Wild fan thing. Listening to sports shows in Minnesota, one of the beat writers was talking about how Fenton realizes that Wild people over value their own players and it's way tougher to make trades than he thought.
Looking at that trade, a top 4 of Suter-Spurgeon-Krug-Dumba looks really good. Plus Zucker is going to want a lot of money, so Heinen could make sense.

I think it's a good trade.

Not more than other defensemen. And regardless the Bruins still have a spot for a primarily offensive defenseman, since they don't really have any others except for Grzlyk. Also, defensive ability comes from things like zone exits as well, something Krug outshines moston defensemen in aswell

Actually he is. A stat i hate is it is more team oriented than individual is +/-. The only time it has much use is comparing players on same team in same year. So let’s look at the B’s main D group from last year.

Chara +22
Grizz +21
CMac +20
Miller +16
Carlo - who was pretty bad last year +10

Krug 0

The only players on the team with 30 or more games worse were McQuaid -1 and Schaller -5

That says something.

B’s were +56 in goal differential 270-214

Minny was +21

Brodin was +23 the only player on his team over +15

I’d trade Krug for Brodin straight up. He ‘s younger, less cap hit signed a year more. The PP takes a hit but CMac and Grizz could pick up some of the slack.

As much as Dumba has improved defensively, a duo of he and Krug makes no sense. Spurgeon and Krug makes no sense either...they would often be confused with Bantam-aged players...

Like I said...you want Brodin and Zucker...start your bidding with Carlo and Forsbacka Karlsson.

BTW - Fans of ALL teams over-value their players...but especially Montreal fans...

Much more equal in value. But B’s aren’t touching that one. Does not fit our needs.

Who's the only defenseman you play when down one goal? He can only do right with his personal play on the ice - which I pointed out is more than great. He can't be responsible for the situations he's put in.

I don’t think you understand that stat or how is figured.

He is not “more than great”. He is good offensively and on the PP. he is bad defensively.

I just don't agree. I think Carlo is just as poor if not worse defensively for example, but people mix up size with skill. Who do we have to qb the pp with Krug gone? I'm not giving Brodin any pp minutes, so that leaves us to.. McAvoy? He should play as much 5v5 as possible imo, where his skating does more than on the pp, where we instead can use Krug, because of his ability with the puck

I’m with @Gofnut999 on this one. Krug is terrible behind the red line. I don’t think not having Krug on the powerplay really effects us that much. Yeah he’s great on the pp but a forward or Mcavoy could do what he does. Carlo is definitely better defensively than Krug. Carlo might not be that consistent dman yet but he literally just turned 20 last season. Krugs got heart and passion but that only goes so far. If I could move Krug to improve the overall defense of the team and maybe take a slight hit on the powerplay I’m 10000% onboard.

This is a great defensive team. Bergy and Marchand are some of the best two-way players this league has seen. Chara is completely unique in a way that lends itself to defensive purposes, and McAvoys selling point is his two-way game, not his offensive production first hand. This team if any has the room and need for Krug, but I think I've made my point, and if you choose not to agree I guess we'll see based on what happens
