Description
Good night now, let me know if this team is better or worse than last years team.

Any player acquired by DATM is traded away, for picks or players. In some cases to help other teams meet their cap.

LW is much better and deeper.
Center is about the same, maybe a bit better.
RW is about the same, a bit younger and faster.
LD is MUCH better.
RD is MUCH better

GK well we will see.

Added seven draft picks and five prospects Barbashev, Bear, Jones, Kostin, and Gauthier. They will report to Rochester and along with Guhle, Nelson, Nylander, Smith, Olofsson, Redmond, Griffith, Pu, Aspland, O'Regan and Malone, should make it a much better team (16 legitimate NHL prospects in Rochester). If Nylander, Smith, or Olofsson progress well, it will be possible to move Pominville before the TDL.

At the end of the season Pominville's and Moulson's contracts expire adding $10,000,000 of space to resign Byron, Rodrigues, Ullmark and Larsson.

you want Weber? I know he may not go to another team now but why not try the John Carlson sweepstakes? Just a little thought. I love these trades though. Can you say most improved team during the off-season?

This is really gutsy. You said you were thinking about getting a lot more character guys with playoff experience. This is A LOT more of that.

I think Scandella and Savard will turn out to be 2nd pair, over the course of one season, although Dunn should improve with experience. With Bogosian averaging 40 games a year over the last five, I'd take Gryba over Bear. Need some experience in a first call-up, and Buffalo has a half dozen talented but inexperienced guys on defense already. You've moved a few, but you've still got Guhle, Antipin and Nelson in the system with similar strengths/weaknesses to E. Bear.

Adding a leader like Weber should help settle things down and teach the young guys the right way to play.

That fourth line.... it's got two twenty goal scorers. Can Larsson set them up for success? It's certainly a good place for him to learn.

    Bear, E is for Baptiste
    Jones, C is a "C" prospect
2018 1st round pick (EDM) this has a chance to return a good player
    2018 2nd round pick (EDM) + 2018 3rd round pick (EDM) + 2019 2nd round pick (EDM) are worth about a late 1st
    Barbashev, I > 2018 2nd round pick (EDM) + 2018 3rd round pick (EDM) + 2019 2nd round pick (EDM)
    Dunn, V > 2018 1st round pick (EDM)
    Kostin, K > Bear, E + Jones, C
    2018 1st round pick (WPG) > Jenner
    McCabe > Milano, S
2018 2nd round pick (STL) =Dubinsky, B + Savard, D partial cap dumps So what is you point about Eichel Ristolainen and Rienhart?

    Thank you for your comments.
First of all, no one said I robbed the other team (maybe Ristolainen) which I find very encouraging. Second, IMO this is a playoff team. Third, Rochester is loaded with talent. Fourth, look at all of those draft picks.
So did you look at the team? is this team better or worse than last year. With the picks can Botterill build on this team? Do you think any those players in Rochester have a chance to be in the NHL in few years. Do you think with that many near NHL ready players they can build a winning attitude in Rochester that will carry over into the NHL (Look again at the list of players in Rochester, how many are legitimate NHL prospects)?
I think I got a ton back for Eichel. a starting LHD, a future Center (I did not have room for him in the line up), a good 1st,
Maybe too much for Ristolainen but it is really only 2 firsts and a "C" prospect, maybe not too much.
You are correct Ladd is older, shorter contract, with the retention more expensive and I got a 2nd as well.
I moved O'Reilly to get Weber and Byron, the RHD is loaded now with Weber, healthy Bogosian and Savard, the LHD is awesome with Dahlin, Dunn and Scandella. I did not have cap space for Carlson. I wish I could have tried to sign him but I think the defense is pretty solid.

I would love to have Carlson, I only had enough for either him or JVR, I chose to get an elite LW because I am adding 5 new defensemen already (Weber, Dahlin, Dunn, Savard and Pilut)

Thank you for your comment, You know I really wanted Orpik and Connolly, but when everyone says I am getting ripped off O'Reilly for Weber, I have to take him instead. You are the only one who looked at the team first and not the trades. Yes I may have over sold some (the CBJ trade may have been a reach, but if they want to cut cap, maybe it would work?) and undersold others but on a balance they are close. I thought Gryba was too good to add to the trade and settled for Bear. IMO Chiarelli may make a trade as this, giving up picks for a RHD and Baptiste and McDavid were awesome in Erie, he may believe he is getting a cheap 20 goal RW. Yes Scandella maybe better than Dunn.

I don't know what the hell you wanted to do. Pominville in the first link, garbage, Dubinsky is garbage, you have it in the second link plays it, even on the third link no longer pulls 30-31 in the NHL, and you have it in the second, Milano as you remember I don't want to see in Buffalo. And of course, I do not want to trade a Eichel, it is strange that you have not given the Dahlin for some Tanev and Sutter.

My goodness a record amount of comments.
    Ladd isn't waiving for Buffalo
    Dubinski isn't waiving for Buffalo
ROR can get better, younger players from some other teams
Eichel, you would think could at least more immediate help that that package. Maybe Carolina for some Dmen.

Well none of any of the trades on this site will ever happen will they? It is all for fun. So if you just play along and suspend your disbelief, this team is better than this years version and this team has a significantly better future then the current version.

I do not know what you mean by links. But Pominville is not garbage, did you know that his goal total ranked among the top 36 NHL RW, that does not sound as garbage to me. Dubinsky is second line center until Mittelstadt is ready. HMMM, I never remember YOU telling me about Milano, but I do remember a different CF GM telling me. So you never did answer the following, does this team have a great future with seven draft picks in the first 2 rounds this year? Is Rochester loaded with new and current prospects? Is this version of the team better than last years version that did not have a single NHL caliber LW after Kane was traded? Is the LHD better? Is the RHD better?

Edmonton is giving up way too much, and Montreal is robbing you. Interesting Eichel trade, I like it.

    Thank you for your comment
I will take away a 2nd from the trade and add Gryba instead of C. Jones., I am happy with the return from Montreal, Weber will add so much to the defense, not just his abilities but his leadership.

For the first link bullshit, I like to Pominstein in 3-4 link, but not in the top 6. Dubinsky is no longer pulling, how can you put him in the second link at all? He even in Columbus in the center of bottom 6 is not pulled, sign Bozak then or Riley Nash, all the better until Casey is ready for the second link. So I'm with you and talked about Milano, just then I nickname was eskimo, I changed the nickname. The future may be there, but why ruin all the achievements and our system? Let's so, I know your attitude to the ROR, and that you trade it constantly, I see how you try all the time to strengthen the defense, but why do you trade Risto, Reinhart and even more so Jack, this is our young future for many years ahead, you just need to exchange ROR one on one conditional Parayko and our defense will be chic, you do not need to rebuild it all. We will have a young and talented team Eichel, Risto, Reinhart, Dahlin, Mittelstadt, Parayko (conditional), Guhle, Nylander, Olofsson and so on.
