i'm a big Allen Fan , he's the only NB born players in the NHL with PHI having the other one a Prospect Myers as well as Couturier raised and living in NB where his father is Junior hockey in Bathurst.
the only reason i'd want allen is to flip him to PHI as our Goalie depth is fine with Niemi helping Lindgren Start. we got 2 of the top NCAA Goalies in Hawkey and Primeau with 2 long term projects in Fucale and Mcniven of which one has to go come summer as they are hurting eachothers development . Adding a goalie let alone 2 makes no sense unless we collapse our entire goalie system which is the only productive thing we have.

Case and point last year 3 of Price's Backups/prospects beneath him in MTL beat him in a variety of NHL Goalie Rankings including Shutouts .
Budaj,Condon and Dubnyk all from MTL's system. Lindgren's stats only get better at each level he hits and the AHL only having 1 D regular in Lernout over 2 years hurt but still if you look at the game by game when he won he didnt let much by him but when they lost it was like 3-0, 4-1 or 5-0 as an injured MTL took what few talented players we had infront of him and left him with a team most wouldnt skate in the ECHL. that being said this year Timmons in year one on the job has rebooted out AHL system as much as possible with the limited re-sources we got , with MB's ear as #2 guy now he got depth guys like Reilly ,Valiev , Rychel ,Cracknell, and has signed Verbeek UFA ,Bitten ,Pezetta and Evans from or drafted prospects for Laval next year if not MTL if they have a good camp

my point is simple if MTL wipes the slate clean on the goaltending machine that is MTL Molson might as well sell because the fans will 100% without a shadow of a doubt burn his brewery to the ground when Price wins the cup in STL and we miss the playoffs with a tandem STL couldnt succeed with

Molson letting Bergevin still be a GM will results in longer years of mediocrity. There is no fixing this team without a full and complete rebuild. I dont care what the players traded do on their new team anymore. What i care is getting tons of assets and move forward.
We are not winning the cup with this core.

Molson's Premoted Timmons almost every year since 2014 where he's re-staffed each division creating Success
it wont be long before Timmons takes over he's Molsons Wet Dream , A Company man serving the better part of 2 decades who is fluent .
MB is just there for now because he needs to help timmons by taking the hate MTL fans have for losing during a re-build .
Timmons for those who watch our Development system has been a godsend because since his first management job in 2013 - now he's gotten the best out of every situation.
him getting his Friend Eric Crawford to come over from VAN has been lights out for us at the Draft since 2014 with even our 7th rounders doing well with 2/4 being top of NCAA

MB is on his way out but just like Gauthier Transitoned in with Gainey
as will Timmons with MB

Trust in Timmons he's in year 1 of rebuilding a 6 year mess by Larry Carriere .
that being said the moves he's made have eclipsed everything Larry did in his entire tenure (which he busted 3 First Rounders and Mccarron i would be bold enough to say )

guys like Poehling ,Evans ,Bitten ,Pazetta ,Fleury ,Primeau ,Vdjemo are all on pace with their development expectations with most exceeding them especially Evans,Fleury and Primeau
add Rychel and Valiev to the mix and i already see a signifigant change

Aren't Montreal 28th in prospects ranking? How is this a good job, I laugh when i see names like Audette and Verbeek, those guys are 3rd line forwards at best. What we need a top legit talent with skills and hockey IQ. Not Poehling and McCarron. What have our last 10 1st round picks produce? Galchenyuk is the only regular roster player we drafted in the 1st round the last 10 years. You can add Drouin but he wasn't a necessity.
Reality is that we suck at drafting and Timmins is part of the problem. Everybody needs to get the **** out.

I'd pass on two 1st for Pacioretty, he can score but the top 10 pick should have more value down the road, let alone the 2nd first round pick. Can easily sign UFA winger like Vanek, Perron etc or trade for somebody younger.

As usual, Patches is extremely overvalued in a trade, and then off course, it's the fathom extension contract which rarely happens..

You should read posts by Grant McCagg on Recrutes.ca

Perhaps that'll change your appreciation of Timmins' work

All I'm saying is that McCagg's points are valid. Of course, one could conclude that Timmins and his staff don't know what they're doing when you realize that Mtl missed on O'Reilly, Kuznetsov, Kucherov, etc. What McCagg is bringing back to our memory is that 28 other teams ignored them too when they had a chance to draft them. Does that mean that 95% of the pro scouts in the NHL are a bunch of incompetents?

Enough with the excuses!
It's been 6 years!
6 years!
Montreal is 2-3 years behind every teams in the league in drafting. Placing intangibles ahead of skill, talent and hockey IQ.
Trading 2 very good 2nd round picks for Shaw was brutal, a 4th for King, a 4th for Benn, a 6th for Ott and a 6th for Nesterov is not helping either.
I am not even going to touch player development.

Molson and the owners should be ashamed and the fans are putting up with the fucked up bullshit.

Statistically speaking, In cap era, its 1 cup per team every 30 years, so better be patient - kudos to TML fans. Plus rebuilds are no guarantee for success. NYI, EDM, BUF are still far from being contenders…

Let’s be cool about it my friend, it’s just pro sports after all.
