More likely that this is a troll thread, but adding in EDM first is funny.

McDavid for Matthews, Rielly +++

Matthews ain’t that special.

Guess again. Matthews is not far below McDavid, and that isn't my opinion. That's just the facts.

Care to provide the facts instead of just saying it?

Mathews is good but McDavid is clearly another level from anyone else in the game. You'd be looking more like Mathews, Nylander, and a first probably but what's the point in even valuing McDavid? He's obviously not even remotely available unless the price would be so ridiculous.

Wow, McDavid has had back to back 100 pt seasons and Matthews hasn’t gotten 70 points yet. End of discussion guys. Toronto would have to give Nylander, Matthews + for McDavid possibly. EDM wouldn’t have to add a first.

Who has more impact on a game/season: Matthews and Nylander or Just McDavid by himself?

Probably Matthews and Nylander, but Edmonton doesn’t need to give a first with possibly the best ever.

I agree, McDavid is more skilled. But I don't think the difference is as great as others assume it is. Matthews-Nylander vs McDavid and a pick somewhere around 9-10 isn't off-base, but youre right; there is no appetite for reasonable valuation. Anything less than a massive overpay would be rejected out of hand.

And TOR doesn't need to entertain the idea of a lateral swapping of assets, but I see your point. Tor 1st for EDM 1st might be the middle ground here.

McDavid, and it's not even close. There's a reason why he's one of the first non-playoff players being seriously considered for the Hart since Lemeuix (Even though it should be all MacKinnon's).

Nobody is discrediting Matthews, and I'll even admit right now he's a much more refined goal scorer than Connor. Nylander is a bit of a wildcard, Babcock has this thing of not utilizing him properly during stretches of the season. Asking for the Edmonton first in return though is absurd.

McDavid + #9ovr would easily fetch Matthews, Rielly, and probably Marner. McDavid has no value - he's way, way too good to even consider trading. The only way I want him traded is if Oilers management continues to jam their heads further up their own asses, and it'd be more for Connor's sake than the team's.

I totally agree with this guy. This is why I want to see McDavid leave. For his own sake. Him and Draisaitl are the only good thing about EDM.
