CAR says no easily. Sprong is overrated everywhere. If he’s that good he’d be up here already.

I think the SJS trade is fair value, but I don’t think SJS does it.

Sharks have the best defense in numbers of the league and they have a mediocre offense. So, why they would have interest to trade for a d-man? Specially a shutdown one like Cole. It makes no sense at all.

As for Skinner's trade, Hurricanes would be insane to accept this trade. Specially with the retaining salary. It's a similar case of Sharks trade. Canes need to boost their offense and Skinner is their best scoring player. So, it makes no sense either.

Just for information, two reasons he's not up yet. First, his game away from the puck still isn't amazing and they want him to get more playing time to develop. Second there is a clause in the CBA for games played requirements with respect to years of RFA eligibility. I cant remember the exact numbers but roughly if he doesn't come up until after the new year the team will gain an extra year for him.

I dont think GMJR is worried about Sprong getting an extra year, since he already wasted 1 of his RFA years while sitting in the press box 2 yrs ago? But hey, u never kno... u could be right, i just never heard of the games played requirment? Im not being a d*** like most ppl on here just honestly think he would be up with Pens if he was ready..... ANYWAYS, who cares if hes bad at defense or with out the puck, our whole team is rite now LOL!!

You can't fight against the numbers. Just 80 goals against and 88 goals for and you really think Cole is the answer for Sharks problems? Couture is the only one who has more than 10 goals in their team.

Sharks are so lucky to don't have you as their GM...

So the already really good defensive team wants to add more defensive ability in exchange for their lack lustre scoring??? I get what you are saying but Willian is making a valid point. If they make a move they do it for more offense not adding to the already strong defensive squad.

What numbers say Carolinas defense is good? i get what you are saying but your analogy makes no sense. Haha.

We already lost that clause since he played over 9 games in 2015-16(18 total)

Lmao I do. He’s very bad at defense. He’s not that good 5v5. He’s a PP machine though.

lol, I just look at Sharks #4,5,6 guys they have on defense and I personally dont think there that good...well until Martin get back and hes like 54 now or something?.... thats my point, that all..... and everyone yells and screams if u trade a dman to Carolina and say they have a young great defense.... but they have given up almost the same # of goals we have... like over 105 or something

Lol I get what your are saying and agree but that doesn't always 100% mean anything. Sometimes the less good defense is enough to win. Case and point last year Pittsburgh Penguins vs Nashville Predators.
