Columbus was more than happy not to have to pay him that silly contract. They do not need a negative value forward. There isn’t even room for Laine.
Anderson makes no sense for CBJ i get that
How do you feel about Gudbranson was in a 3 way with Krug and Anderson where CBJ got paid?
Krug has the 2.5 m extra cap and 1 years extra term that CBJ would have to take
But you'd be upgrading Gubranson to Krug which as far as over paid players go is a sizable update if he doesnt improve to his numbers back in BOS
STL would get Anderson freeing up room on their back end for former Hobey Baker Winner Perunovich to grow during your retool or MTL can throw in a LD prospect like Harris if not. MTL would get Gudbranson's cap dump of 4m x 3yrs and STL dump Hayes 1.75m x 2 yrs after RS 49%
I mean Saad-Anderson on the Wing of some you Center like Dean isnt the worst thing a team could get in a Capdump
Nor is Krug playing back for an extra year more then Gudbranson but giving them an upgrade in player while getting paid
MTL it doesnt make sense at first then you consider that next TDL or before that Savard, Kovacevic, Dvorak, Evans,Armia ,ext are all gone or will be by summer if not waived earlier.
So having Gudbranson here just means Struble and Mailloux will start next year in Laval then after that we got the RS slots and wiggle room to move a D if needed to make room. Hayes i more of a transaction to create room for Dean to play 3 C they can keep him if they want and just get a bigger return from MTL for taking on more Cap, im flexible. IF Hayes went to MTL there is a spot for roughly the term of his contract
There'd have to be a decent amount of moving pieces but CBJ the next year have a lot of RFA's that need deals with no Arbitration rights and 22m cap so taking on 2.5m more to upgrade your D to a competitive producer who might spark Gaudreau given thats what he's been missing since leaving BOS. I think CBJ are ok with it given he's the most productive of all the overpaid players being moved even if he is slumping
