I don’t hate it from the jackets perspective but I do wonder that with markstrom struggling behind the flames defense his numbers would be even worse in Columbus

Isn’t part of the Elvis talk partly due to CBJ wanting to open up the net for Tarasov, Martin, Greeves …eventually Ivanov? Imagine they would want to do same with Markstrom, no?

Markstrom has been great. He is by far the best and most consistent player on the Flames. The D has been very leaky to start the year, and he is around the top of the NHL in goals saved above expected.

That's just a terrible trade for CGY.

Markstrom doesn’t need a change of scenery, he’s been great and on a reasonable contract. Only way they’d move him if for a 1st + or a top tier prospect
