Description

I saw a Leafs ACGM with a Miller for Nylander one for one. Canucks fans in the comment were saying that they should not do this deal, but I think that is a steal for Vancouver. The conversation had me curious if it was possible to build a competitive team without Miller as the 2C, this is what I came up with. Keep in mind that the cap dump trades can be any team, and the UFA salaries may be a little cheaper or more expensive. Bear should return by January next year, and he would then replace Myers in the lineup.

Canucks draft Benson if he is available. If he is gone, take the best player that falls. If not, take SImashev.

Miller is worth more and does bring more to the table then Nylander. You have 3 very similar players in kuzy, Nylander and Boeser. Is Nylander a better scorer than the other two i think its debatable between him and Kuz. Also I'm not a big fan of Compher I think his offensive ability is getting looked on favorably when he's been in a mostly protected spot in Colorado at 5m I think whoever signs him is going to regret it.

That's true, that could go to any team looking to reach the cap floor. I do not think that Van would be opposed to parting with a mid round pick to make it happen either.

I think it would be wise move for Chicago. Pearson could be potentially flipped at the deadline. Garland is solid all around and could be moved for assets.

There is no world where Miller is worth more than Nylander. Nylander is younger, similar offensively, much better defensively, and will be on a much better contract. Nylander adds much needed speed into the top six, and you can never have too many guys who can put the puck in the net. I agree that Compher is not worth 5 million, but I believe that a combination of him and Rodrigues and provide apt secondary scoring and positive defensive results.
