Description
I fully expect a lot of people to hate this but…

BUF needs to compete in playoffs right now and they’re glaring hole is they need a star goalie, Gibson can be that now. Henrique is a top 6 Swiss Army knife who would easily net 30 in BUF. Hinds is a stud, but he won’t be getting through Fowler, Mintyukov and Zellweger on the depth chart.

VAN is in an awful situation and are going to be calling every team trying to get someone to take their cap but it sounds like no one is helping them. I feel bad for them but not so bad that I don’t want to take advantage of their team’s situation.

NYR i literally just based this off of Rangers Twitter. I think it would be a stupid move. So if you don’t like it blame Rangers fans.

ANA they can afford the enormous amount of cap they’re taking on because of their ELCs playing as main pieces of the team. After this season Myers and Silfverberg free up 11M and allow them to fill around this roster before they need to sign McTavish, Lacombe, Helleson, Dostal and Laf, and then a year later Fantilli, Zellweger, Mintyukov, and Drysdale. But after two years they lose McGinn, Freddie and Vatrano’s contracts, that should free up space to re-sign player. And after three years Garland, Fowler and Panarin come off the books allowing them to make those big re-signing and have their 2023 picks after Fantilli join the roster.

BUF
  1. Gibson, John
  2. Henrique, Adam (2 912 500 $ retained)
  3. Hinds, Tyson
Détails additionnels:
Hinds just won defensive dman of year in Q

ANA
  1. Lafrenière, Alexis [Droits de RFA]
  2. Panarin, Artemi
Détails additionnels:
Basing it on Rangers Twitter claiming no one would take Panarin without giving up picks.
NYR
  1. Comtois, Maxime [Droits de RFA]
  2. Jones, Max
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (BOS)
Détails additionnels:
I still like Panarin but apparently the rangers want him gone so here’s that trade.
3.
ANA
  1. Garland, Conor
  2. Myers, Tyler
  3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (VAN)
Détails additionnels:
Seravalli: Canucks have been somewhat aggressively in talks with teams to at least understand the prices of what it would cost to unload a contract. A lot of focus has been on Garland. To this point the prices have been very high.Teams want high picks in return. Awful deal for Canucks but it sounds like they’re being held over the barrel.
VAN
  1. Lundeström, Isac
Détails additionnels:
Canucks have to get rid of cap space and teams aren’t lining up to help them. I assume high picks means their 11th overall since they don’t have a 2nd for two years.

I threw in Lundestrom mostly cuz I feel bad for Canucks fans, but I could see it just being for cap dump.

Canucks aren’t doing that. They can get by without moving out any money, although it would be less than ideal. The only way I’d see them trading their 1st in a cap dump situation is if it’s to dump OEL

They literally can’t, they’re over the cap next season. They need to move cap in order to be cap compliant and front a whole roster.

How about changing Hinds to Drew Hellenson. We need RD more than LD.

Yep they're currently $700k over the cap, before signing Bear ($2.5mil) and Hoglander ($1.2mil).

However there are approximately 100000000000000000 better ways to solve that than by trading Myers, Garland and an 11OA pick.

For example, Myers at 50% retained after his bonus has been paid on September 1st, will only be owed $1million in actual salary, with only 1 year remaining.
The cost to 'dump' Myers at that point is at worst a late draft pick. Most Vancouver journalists are confident that teams like Arizona and the Ducks certainly find this appealing.
The $3million saved in cap space almost solves the cap 'problem' situation entirely.

Another possible scenario is to trade someone like Beauvillier (also 1 year left), 20 points in 33 games at a cap hit of $4.15mil.
He absolutely brings in an asset at that point. Vancouver retaining 50% would only increase the value of that asset.

both Person and Poolman are more than likely never playing again, Which is 5.5 in cap space that won't count against our cap next year, with being able to be 10% over the cap in the summer The canucks have no issues being cap complaint next year, as for the trade it's brutal for Vancouver, no team is paying a the 11ova to dump a season worth of cap.
