Moving Up or Non Starter

I like the idea behind the Mantha trade. I'm not sure we'll need to add both Mitchell and the pick, but minor details really. Also like the CBJ idea. Looks good to me.

Columbus has Peeke, Boqvist and Gudbranson for RHD next season already. With Jiricek and Ceulemans in the wings. I don't think this is the right deal for them.

I could get behind the Washington deal. Seems like fair value, and a complete spin of the roulette wheel where those picks end up - which is kind of fun! Not a fan of the Columbus deal. Giving up Murph to basically move up one round seems like selling low on Murph to me. And Jackets really don't need a RHD long term IMO.

Love Murphy, but the only way we make that trade is if Gudbranson is going back the other way, as it stands for next season we have 7 RHD who could playing (at least bottom pair) in the NHL with Gudbranson, Peeke, Boqvist, Blankenburg, Bjork, Jiricek and Cuelamens, adding Murphy would be 8 (even though I’m guessing they run 5 RHD and 2 LHD in the NHL next season). The fit just isn’t there for Columbus.
