Kind of alot of meh moves that really dont make the team better.

Depends what you think they need. Offensive depth, stronger stay at home dman, better goaltending, etc....

1. Minnesota does not have cap space for 3.5mil Kerfoot and Kerfoot has a NTC
2. Two 3rd line plugs are what they're missing?
3. Joey Anderson has ZERO value Leaf fans, stop throwing him into trades disguised as value. Hes been in Leafland for 3 years (after 2 years in NJ) and hes still not an NHLer, hes surpassed by half the marlies squad for callups. So its Kerfoot for Kulikov?

Anyways, it doesn;t matter, I think you have to speculate on what you think is wrong with the club and what will work in the playoffs. IMO, the Leafs are an offensive powerhouse around just 2 lines every year, but in all these years haven't seen that maybe its forward two way play or a balanced offense or a defense that stays at home that would work better. I dont think you address that with a Kane or Meier, I think you address it by getting some above average 3rd line guys, (a Laughton, a Gallagher, a Marcus Foligno, a Kilhorn/Gourde, etc...) but not sure on how you make the cap work.

By the way the one thing I like about your moves is I like the fourth line and PK, Kampf is a real solid defensive player, but hes an offensive blackhole on the 3rd line.

Fair enough. My though process was bringing in more depth while focusing on players that are responsible in their own end that can shutdown the game when the leafs are ahead. I don't like the idea of trading all our prospects and picks for Kane or Meier. The only ways to gain cap are Kerfoot, Engvall, and Holl. Holl is playing well and I think you probably lose any trade he's in. We all tend to make trades based off of fixing our own problems and not accounting for the other team trying to do the same

Kulikov for the Ottawa third is entirely reasonable. For the reasons so accurately expressed by @Hammerwise, Joey Anderson actually DETRACTS from a trade.

Kerfoot would also detract from the trade value, before anyone gets any ideas.

"bUt YoU cAn ReTaIn AnD fLiP hIm" sure, we COULD, but that's more work on our side for an unguaranteed return, and we have our own rentals to ship out with retention. We might be stuck with him for the rest of the season, and we do not have a spot for him.
