Description
This isn't 100% serious, don't expect it to happen and I'm sure there's a better solution than this, but I love the idea of aquiring players who used to be on your team. Always makes for a fun story line. And when you think about it, both JVR and Schenn would be nice additions to the team. JVR would add some depth scoring which is arguably the biggest need for this team. Schenn would basically replace Holl but he's more physical and cheaper.

As for the lines, I was hesitant to move Jarnkrok off the second line, but that second line is obviously the best fit for JVR. As for the D pairings, I could also see Schenn being paired with Rielly being a good idea too, but I thought it'd be best not to mess with the d pairings too much.

And of course, this is all assuming Muzzin stays on LTIR, if he has to come back this falls apart. But I would be shocked if he actually came back before the playoffs, can't see the maple leafs allowing that as it kills any big potential trade deadline adds they could make.

You said Schenn would a nice addition.....maybe so, but trading away Holl is a big subtraction. Absolutely no gain on the ice for the Leafs, and then you're just hoping that Schenn can quickly adjust to the Leafs. I'd be more intrigued by the JVR addition, if only he gets limited minutes, mostly on the PP.

I don't see JVR slotting in on the second line with Tavares. PP2 and bottom six scoring.

Yah the Schenn trade was partially so there would be a theme of reaquiring former leafs, and partially for cap reasons. If you wanted you could trade Kerfoot or Engvall instead to make room for JVR. Or maybe there will be enough accured cap space (I still don't fully understand how deadline cap space works).

Yah like I said I said I didn't really want to take Jarnkrok off the second line. JVR could play in the bottom 6 and it would be fine.

Schenn is gonna cost a 2nd or 3rd. You can throw in Hold if you want to dump cap but he isn't of any value in the trade.
