Montreal says deal to both

I've been saying all along that NYR should hold out for a deal involving a 2022 1st...lowest I'd go is (2) 2nds...given Montreal's anticipated draft slot I'd give Arizona an opportunity to match, and then cut bait. Krav gets a fresh start with a rebuilding team, MTL (or AZN) gets a player who (with maturity) can develop into a star, and NYR exchange a headache for 2 good pick in a deep draft...problem solved all around!

Not doing the Chytl deal, though.

Buffalo pass, we don't need Nemeth and Georgiev doesn't cost that much.

Montreal is not in a position to trade picks. It`s the opposite, they will trade for picks or prospects.
We already have Josh Anderson. No need for Vitali Kravtsov

Montreal and Arizona have the two worst records in the league. Very highly doubt that either of them would trade such a high 1st round pick. But both teams 2nd round pick is really like a late 1st round pick (#33 or #34) and their 3rd round picks are like a late 2nd round pick (#65 or #66) as well.

Not sure if the Rangers could get a 1st round pick for Chytil. I figure Drury will have to trade Chytil, Georgiev, and Nemeth in order to resign Strome. So I believe there’s a good chance again next season that Montreal will struggle and the 2nd round pick will be more like a late 1st round pick.

Paquette is just a low value UFA veteran throw in, but his game is more suited for the playoffs and could help the Rangers 3rd or 4th lines contribute in the postseason.
