Description
Thoughts on Trades, Signings? Girard trade happens in the off-season.

Jarnkrok is a stop-gap deal until Räty is ready. He has been dominant in Finland but he shouldn’t be rushed, and will spend the majority of the season in the AHL.

Détails additionnels:
I’ve seen trades proposed with Beau and a 2nd, and most people think it seems pretty fair. I added Bolduc because while he is a good prospect, he won’t overcome Pelech-Girard-Salo on the left side in the foreseeable future. Colorado is trading away a strong young defender, so why not give them a strong prospect in return to even out the trade value

  1. Bailey, Josh
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (NYI)
Détails additionnels:
Islanders send a 3rd to Arizona for a cap dump. Bailey is still a useable piece, especially on a rebuilding team with almost no forwards under contract for this coming year. He’s a leader, and is a lock for 50 points, so it isn’t a complete cap dump that would require a 1st, 2nd, or top prospect.

That's actually not a horrible Girard offer. Beauvillier has obviously not played very well this year, but if he got back to his regular self, I could see this being a reasonable move.

That being said, if I'm Colorado I'm probably not in any rush to actually move Girard. Cost-controlled, 23 Y/O top 4 dman...Toews, Makar, Byram, Girard in that top 4 is strong. You move him, you're left with EJ eating heavy minutes, which doesn't seem ideal.

I was all in on Burakovsky but apparently he has issues with Trotz. Also if Bolduc goes in that, we’d probably get an additional 3rd or 4th. Contrary to what many think, Bailey could probably get two 3rds in return. As you said, 50 point player and a leader.

Going to suck when Barzal wants out because the isles want to get rid of all his closest (and skilled) friends on the team

COL declines easily.
Not only is Girard not on the trade block, but the value offered here isnt even remotely close.
there are plenty of middle 6 F options out there that would be cheaper to obtain than giving up Girard

the only way avs do this deal is bc of they have additional offseason moves in place and this is a luxury to do. Like if they extend Kadri (6m), Nuke (4m) and Kuemper (5m). They have roughly 8m in cap space with a 21 man roster, (Maltsev, Kaut/Bowers, Aube-Kubel, and Annenun on their ELCs fill out the roster).

They could look at trying to sign a number 4 in UFA if they want if they have that sort of cap space. They might not be as good as G but what if they took a run at Hampus Lindholm...whats his price tag? Colin Miller isnt a bad number 4 option on a better coached and structured team.

Tough to say 100% avs do the G trade but if they have other moves in the hopper its interesting to think about
