Description
The Keith deal makes sense if Chicago is able to retain 25%. He is still able to be an effective 2LD for a few more years. The Oilers need help now on the left side before Broberg is ready in a few years.

Notable resigning's: Yamamoto, Larsson, Barrie, Ennis, Koekkoek, Benson, Kahun, Marody
Oilers walk from: Khaira, Chiasson, Kulikov
UFA signings: Coleman for 1LW, Getzlaf at 3C (or another veteran right shot that can take draws)

If Larsson resigns before the Expansion Draft, Bear will be left unprotected and be chosen by Seattle (he played junior their). This makes sense with Bouchard ready for a full time role and Barrie coming back there is no room for Bear who projects to be at best a 2nd pair dman but more likely a 3rd pair dman.

Maybe Neal gets bought out but one more year makes his buyout after that palatable. Maybe Koskinen, Neal or Kassian can be moved mid-season to free up some more cap space for next year when Nurse and Puljujärvi have to be resigned with definite increases.

    As a Hawks fan. I'm not happy with this. I'd rather have Keith, BUT I understand he wants to be closer to his son. Caleb Jones isn't good. He's quite literally a pawn to attempt to get his brother. This isn't the worst trade I've seen proposed, but I really would rather just keep Duncan Keith.

    Who you protecting for D besides Nurse, nobody. So why would you give a fantastic asset away to an expansion draft team, that is brutal
