I can tell you for certain pitt has absolutely no interest in that deal. Guentzel > Marner, McCann>>>>>Engvall and the pens then add the better pick. Madness I say.

I agree McCann is better than engvall but you seriously have to be ill to think guentzel is better than Marner.

You can argue cap hit and stuff but marner the last two years was voted 5th best (last year) and best (this year) right winger in the game (as per being on the first all Star team and 5th in voting last year). Haven't seen any such voting for guentzel.

Marner is 11th in points over the last two years and guentzel is tied for 41st.

Marner even got some Selke love in there.

So just not guentzel isn't better.

(Again to be clear contracts and stuff could change value, but marner is the better player)

Ya, with the salary difference Guentzel > Marner. Look at their stats. Guentzel is a more proficient goal scorer too. And Guentzel 200 foot game is better. More physical, a ton more “hits”.

U can’t say Guentzel is a product of Sid. Then Marner is a product of Matthews.

And D.Simon, C.Sheary, D.Sprong and Beau Bennett all were on Sids wing and never produced or have the skill Guentzel has.
