Looking at continuing to build through the draft and picking our spots. Before the community comes at me with the trades. I wanted to build on a few trades I saw from other fans. The Philly trade was originally Dumba for Braun, Patrick and a 1st. I added Zucc for Konecny to see how the line up would work. I know Philly would not make that trade with Konecny in there for that value of a trade.

I do think the Kraken take Soucy as their big stay at home defencemen that can chip in once in a while.

The Greenway trade is really to get value and go after a player we could see having a big impact down the line. Greenway as it sits is a top 9 player and we just don't have more room in the top 9 if we wanna move Hartman back to the wing. Boldy will need top 6 minutes to really develop into the guy we all want him to be and get close to that Mikko Rantenen comparison.

The center position is going to be an interesting one this off season. Do we make the splash and go all in on Eichel? How do we relieve cap pressure in that case. Or do we stay the course and let the team play out and keep building. JEE will be a top 3 center. Rossi IF 100%, will be a top 3 center on this team. Our last spot could be Sturm moving up to that 3rd line role and re-signing a guy like Bonino or another great faceoff guy.

While Eichel would be amazing I don't want to give up the young guys coming in to get him and be left with a tight cap space and having to build in free agency. IF we go the Parise buyout we will be even more hamstrung by cap space in years 2-4.

Looking at the Parise situation, you can buy him out easier now with the contracts this team has after these moves. Year 1 of the buyout is going to be very cheap and not a big deal but years 2-4 are going to strap us in a big way. Going younger will allow us to get through this time and really come out of that 4th year competing for a championship for years to come.

If we made moves similar to this we can find our character guys like Bonino, Bjug and others to round out this roster and can have them play in big moments to take pressure off the younger guys.

Sorry for the long winded description, but I wanted to give as much logic as I could for all the trade parties! This is my second post on here so I appreciate any feedback or conversations!
