Making an RNH deal work

They don't need d-man & they need wingers. You're asking them to give up their best winger for a position not of need.

I'm also not so sure Dumba is gonna get a lot of value as Wild fans think. He was awful last season, and 8 games this year doesn't make up for that. There's a good chance Minnesota will have to expose him to Seattle anyways and risk losing him for nothing, teams aren't gonna overpay or go out of their way for a 2nd pairing d-man that could be let go for nothing anyways.

After watching the Oilers this year it's pretty clear to me that they need help on the blue line. Besides, I gave them a winger with Johansson who has the speed to keep up with McDavid and Draisaitl

Disagree that Dumba looked awful, I thought he was fine last year and he had some stretches of really good games. I don't see us losing Dumba for nothing in expansion, we'd protect 8 skaters.

The Oilers need D men and wingers. Now before they make a move like this I really think they need to come to a consensus on how good Broberg and Bouchard are going to be. I personally think they should seriously think about trading Draisaitl.

Good point, the Oilers have a lot of talented D in their prospect pool. Guess it depends on how badly they want to make a run this year in a strong Canadian division and there might be something to be said about keeping McDavid happy by making the playoffs. If they made Draisaitl available I'd hope Guerin does everything in his power to get him

I wouldn't bet on RNH making an extension. Think he's gonna check the market. He could be in for a major raise as he's most likely the best C heading for free agency.

As for the trade, EDM needs more defense minded D-men. I don't think Dumba fits this description.
