That is bold I don’t get why sooo many think the oilers are going to finish that low. Had the best record of all Canadian teams and then went out and added more depth than any team in Canada and that’s going to result in a worse record?

I think you're over rating DAL. They got hot and yes they were built for the playoffs, but they were a wild card team and simply got hot. They were not impressive pre bubble.

You didn't improve your depth, you shuffled deck chairs and your team was really bad at 5v5 last season. Both TO and Montreal are way better at 5v5 and Calgary is improved in net in a big way. Edmonton wouldn't have been the best team in Canada had the season finished since TO was operating at a much better record under Keefe. On top of all that, do you really think you are going to get terrific goaltending and top 5 special teams on both sides of the puck again? Because if you don't have amazing special teams you are not winning. There is a reason almost your entire team finished in the negative last season. Edmonton is a mirage. They have two superstars, Nuge and Yamamoto, that's it. Turris sucks, Ennis is a 4th liner and Kahun is going to be another Rattie. You could finish 2nd, and it wouldn't really surprise me but I also think you could be 2nd last and that would surprise me less.

I don't think so, the Canucks really were a team that relied on insane goaltending, (so did the Jets but they still have their reigning Vezina goalie) I don't like their defence beyond Schmidt, Hughes and Edler and their depth is just okay. I think the problems that Markstrom hid will hurt them big time while I think Winnipeg will take a step forward this season.
