Ive noticed it too. I think people are either overrating Krug or underrating Mantha. Krug is good, but he’s not worth a 24 year old sniper/power forward hybrid who’s probably gonna be a consistent 25-30 goal scorer for awhile

Mantha's production is less than Krug's and Boston would have no one to fill Krug's role (despite what some think). Krug is a UFA after this season and for a building team like Detroit they are better off waiting to see if he makes it to UFA status.
