Kadri is a duche bag no doubt about it but he would make a damn good 3rd line center on a cheap deal. I would love to see what he could do under Trotz and out of Toronto...

Toronto is trying to win the cup, I don't think they are trading two top-9 forwards for.... that. No reason they would want a first round pick or somebody who can't contribute to their lineup right away. They obviously have no interest in Komarov since they didn't resign him last year. For 2019 this deal is Kadri/Kap for Mayfield. No thanks.

Bode Wilde might be good, but Toronto has young prospects on D they don't need a guy 1-3 years away, they need someone ready for minutes right now.

Actually the Leafs trade makes sense for the Leafs and the Isles. Leafs shed cap but trade two good NHLers for one RHD (a position of need) and two futures. Leafs think they can fill their two forward position with Marlies. For cap reasons the Leafs would prefer if Komarov was left out of the deal . The Isles do get an immediate help up front.
Maybe it's just me, I don't think Skinner is worth of such big money, better ways to spend it. Maybe the Isles are better to keep Leddy to solidify the defence. But some good thoughts overall on the post.
