Also I like that 2nd line but no way he plays Jost over Soderberg

Not sure why Bednar is so stubborn on getting Bourque in the lineup but you know he'd be in over Ghetto again.

Not sure of this myself but hey Ill take some input
Cozens and Knight are the guys I want them to draft too, don't think Pavelski is very realistic on either side. He'll probably want to stay in San Jose and if they're gonna sign someone of that caliber it'll be a younger guy who they can keep around for awhile. Eberle seems very realistic though. Francouz is gonna be the backup if they bring him back, Kinkaid doesn't make sense. Nemeth isn't coming back either, there's no place for him in the top 6 unless there's a Barrie trade and even then he'd be blocking Graves and Timmins, and he can probably get a top 6 role somewhere else. Personally I'd like to keep Compher unless it's to make room for a top UFA.

Who SHOULD the Avs draft 4th overall IN DESCRIPTION
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I think it would be hard to fault either Cozens or Byram (assuming Podkolzin isn't in the mix). All of your responders have put forward the case for each. Both appear to be genuine blue-chippers. In my personal opinion, it seems to me that your team's weakness this year was second-line talent, not defense, so I would go with Cozens, in which case I think the Kings will take Turcotte.</div></div>
Exactly, Byram would stack the defense but it sounds like he's being rated a little higher than he should because he's the only defenseman worthy of a top 10 pick, increasing his value for team's that need defensemen. Anyone could use a blue chip defensive prospect, but that's not high on the Avs needs this year. This is (hopefully) the Avs best chance to find a 2C for the next few years or at least a legitimate top 6 wing to augment the top line.

Who SHOULD the Avs draft 4th overall IN DESCRIPTION
I think they have a future top 4 of Girard, Makar, Timmins, and Z, which is pretty solid (not even counting Johnson who'll be around for the next few years and Barrie who we don't know about). They have solid forward prospects but don't have an elite one, which is what they can get at 4. I'm the furthest thing from a draft expert but I like what I've read about Cozens and Podkolzin, the problem with Podkolzin is it sounds like he's not coming over for at least a year maybe two which is fine in the long term but being patient is getting a little irritating. The nice thing is you don't need a first line guy, either guy could anchor the second line for the years to come. Personally Cozens seems like a nice complement to MacKinnon with his size, speed, and two-way ability. Plus it sounds like he could be in the NHL by the end of next year, which is exciting.

Panarin and Barrie for RNH trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>For me its if you should trade Barrie bc the right deal is there but dont feel obligated that you have to just bc "Makar is on the way". Barrie is awesome and if there is a way to keep him, you do whatever you can to do so, but logic says to move on as the team transitions into the younger core. Only move him if the right deal comes along this summer, in the last 5 years he is top 10 in league scoring for Dman...we are talking about surpassing guys like Subban, Doughty, Pietrangelo, Byfuglien, Hamilton, Giordano. HIs point production is among the best</div></div>
I agree with that but if you do sign a big free agent this summer it’s gonna be hard to sign Barrie to an extension depending what you give Mikko/Compher/Z/Kerfoot and then also resign Jost and Girard if either of them have the breakout I’m expecting next year, and you’d rather him not walk for nothing. Of course he seems to love it here and obviously is close with MacKinnon so tough decision either way

Panarin and Barrie for RNH trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>oh for sure, the avs could have landed a franchise altering gift from that Duchene trade if they are able to get 1st or even 2nd overall. Hughes/Kakko into the Avs line up next year, with Makar, the cap space to chase after a big fish like Panarin or Karlsson plus exploring a Barrie trade depending on what happens with the Sens pick and UFA target. Sakic has done a good job and been fortunate for everything to seem to be lining up perfectly for him</div></div>
I think in a dream world they go after Panarin either way, and if they get 1st (Hughes) I'd try and do a Barrie for Nylander trade and if they get 2nd (Kaako) I'd try and do a Barrie for RNH trade. I know people don't want to trade Barrie with how he's been arguably the biggest reason aside from Grubauer they went on this playoff run down the stretch, but I'd argue his value is at an all time high and Makar is an obvious replacement. If they could pull of Panarin, Hughes/Kaako and Nylander/RNH they're immediately a cup contender next year and the years to come

Trades with COL and WPG
Speaking as an Avs fan, no thanks. They have a bunch of smaller offensive minded defensemen for the future, they'll need Z's physical presence to complement that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gabriiel40</b></div><div>I think the only real problem that I see is the fact that you say they draft a goalie at 16 OA...im not sure when the last goalie that drafted in the first round was but it is extremely rare.....</div></div>
It's semi rare but worth it for what people say Knight could be. He's already projected as a late first rounder and with two firsts makes sense for the Avs. Oettinger was taken in the first round just two years ago and a lot of the top goalies in the league (Price, Vasilevsky, Fleury) were first round picks

Hughes Panarin Barrie for Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonesryan</b></div><div>Counter offer (that I've posted a couple times)
To Colorado:
William Nylander
TOR 2020 2nd round pick
To Toronto:
Tyson Barrie (signs 7 year/$6.75M AAV)
AJ Greer
COL 2020 4th round pick
Deal is only done if Barrie signs the extension. Do you think he'd sign for that?</div></div>
I think he'd probably need about 7.5-8, but I think adding Greer sweetens the pot for Toronto, think he'll be a solid bottom 6 guy in the league and they'll need some cheap talent with the Tavares/Matthews/Marner deals and whenever Reilly comes up.
