It's actually not that hefty of a price, two years ago at the draft the Yotes acquired the 11th pick from the Sharks for 27th + 34 + 45. I would say Struble = the 34th pick (perhaps even slightly more) so that leaves accounting for the 45th pick, so just add the Avs 2nd and it's basically the same return the Sharks got.
Edit, sorry read the deal wrong lol, guess you would have to add the Jets 1st to make it the same deal lol

Best case scenario
You know, I didn't compliment you on the brilliance of the Pittsburgh idea.
It's a pretty good chance that the 2024 first will revert to the Penguins and then they'll lose their 2025 pick. Given the holes in their draft dance card and the fact that their prospect pool is one of the five worst, your package is a very good idea for them. Congratulations!

Man until Knight comes back and looking like the player he once was, I wouldn't be trading a bunch of assets for him. There's too much risk there presently.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>Myers would cost a first alone tonget dumped. Just look at Monahan and Marleau. So MTL gets screwed in that situation as there isnt enough value from 11-14 to make up for Myers’ negative value</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>Hart hasnt been great since the MTL series. I certainly think that he still has the potential (and I certainly like the idea of him receiving the Dach treatment here in MTL), but you can't come here and say hes one of the best goalies in the league lmao. The value is great here, and you're not trading your pick completely, you move down 4 ranks</div></div>
Hart hasnt been great since that series because he has a bad team in front of him. Torts also likes him so he might not go anywere. This trade might be possible though. They could possibly get a better goaile in the future with the first and 2 pick. This trade could actually work out for MTL and philly

Big trade draft night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>Benson is hurt and might miss the rest of the year (unfortunately). And when you look at multiple scouting lists (ex : Pronman), he's often outside the top 8 even top 10. I agree that hes awesome tho (thats why I want him) but smaller players tend to drop a bit.
I get that Mailloux is promising, but we're also getting Hart back (who's still has tons of potential). Heres how I see the value :
Hart = Mailloux, Kidney + half of Dvorak (probably = 2nd rd pick).
8th OA = 12th + 36th + half of Dvorak (= 2nd rd pick).</div></div>
Yep, I did not see Hart, just completely read over him, trade makes much more sense

Probably Not until the new year for 2 reasons. Nhl holiday roster freeze is getting close. Teams can’t trade. Waive or loan players during that week. Chances are teams don’t want to add guys prior to that so they don’t have to carry them during the freeze,
Teams can talk extensions guys who were on 1 year deals. The teams in the seller category will know if their pending ufas will re-sign which helps determine the trade market.

I dunno, I like the Josh Anderson idea.....Right Hand Centre and LW Huberdeu account for probably 75% of the puck interactions, Josh Anderson can score. would be a decent fit and ive made armchairGM;s similar, althoguh I do agree that I probably wouldn't give that up for Josh Anderson. Haters are haters man, although I wouldnèt do that trade, I get what your thinking and its not far off base.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>westleysnipez</b></div><div>If a player is a liability, then they don't have good trade value and won't fetch you a good return.
As it stands now, Anderson is a below-average player vs. his AAV, that's not rare, that's pretty common. He's bad defensively, not scoring points to make up for his AAV and he's 27, you're not going to sell a GM on his future capabilities as if he's a prospect. You've got to sell him on what he's accomplished and how he has played recently.</div></div>
Look, MTL don’t want to move Josh Anderson but teams keep calling for him. Pierre LeBrun said MTL turned down so serious offer before the TDL. So like or not, IF Anderson gets traded, the team acquiring him probably won’t like the price to acquire him
Chiarot brought a 1st + former 3rd RD pick Ty Smilanic + a 4th
Lehkonen brought former 1st RD pick Justin Barron + 2024 2nd rd pick
Kulak brought a 2nd RD pick + a 7th RD pick
People were saying Chiarot isn’t bringing a 1st RD pick alone
Lehkonen might get you a 2nd RD pick + late pick
Kulak isn’t getting a 3rd RD pick
Everyone were wrong, so I do believe that IF Anderson gets traded, it would be a good return for MTL

Mtl are proud to select
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>uncle_toto</b></div><div>lol don't try to act like you're smarter or wiser than the rest.
Of course I watched Wright. I also watched Cooley a handful of games. I'm capable of saying he's a terrific player, but Wright is the superior prospect.
Cooley's dynamic offensively, but he's going to end up playing the wing on the top-6 is he reaches his full potential. You're willing to bypass a surefire top 6 C, a position this franchise desperately needs, for the potential flash.
Colley played 71 (I could be off a game or two - the exact number escapes me) more games than Wright, clearly impacting development. That said, Wright is still the consensus top eligible prospect. That says a whole lot about where they are. Wright does small things that other prospects don't do. Just because you don't notice how he creates space for his linemates away from the puck, you say he shows no competitive spirit.
Regardless, this is your preference. I don't like it, but I sleep well at nights knowing you'll never be the GM of my favourite franchise.
Take good care, son.</div></div>
The year off, I think, is understated as a factor in Wrights decline.
Cooley could end up on wing, but not because of an inability to drive a line, but because of his ability to get around defenders.
He plays high-motor, high-speed, high-IQ game...which is why I like the Nathan MacKinnon comps.
Wright was supposed to be the complete package, but he just hasn't been this year. Under 1.0 ppg on the road. Under 50% face-offs.
I feel like scouts have gave Wright a very long leash because of COVID. But have also put unrealistic expectations on him.
Its hard to show "complete" when you are only playing the same 7 opponents over and over and over....

Cooley also has a high ceiling. So arguably one could say both guys could be in the #1 OA spot. '
Wright is the safe pick but Cooley ceiling one could argue is higher if all goes well with his development.
While I feel Wright is gonna end up a Hab who knows what Hughes decides.

I used Milano, since I think I think his downside would be as speedy winger.
But I don't know how Wright's downside is ROR or RNH? ROR may be closer to his upside.
Nolan Patrick was pretty much in same boat as Wright a few years ago...he was supposed to be the safe pick. High Floor 2C.

A Different Dadonov Plot
The 2023 1st can also be conditional, condition could be stipulated that if the 2022 ends up top 10 then the 2023 goes to Buffalo and the 2024 to whoever takes Dadonov.
Edit I would also ensure that IF Vegas wants the 2023 top 10 protected then they throw in an additional prospect like Dean. Otherwise it is unprotected.

That would be the offer I would say yes to for Lehkonen.
Habs won’t trade him for less than Chiarot I don’t think so it’s going to cost a 1st plus a better prospect . I would love Nils on the habs. He fits on our need perfectly.
It would take an overpay to acquire Lehkonen since there is no need for us to trade him but a 1st plus Lunqvist will get my attention 100%

whats the fuss with McBain
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>So McBain wants to play this year and the implication is that Guerin isn't going to trade his rights this season if he doesn't get what he wants (a 2nd round pick reportedly). Guerin is (seems?) fine letting him walk this offseason, but since McBain wants to play he and his agent are likely going to try to find a team that's willing to pay Guerin's asking price.
Therefore, you either give up a 2nd for him to add to your team this year, or you sign him in the offseason. I don't think Guerin is going to budge on his asking price</div></div>
That is kind of ridiculous though, isn't it? Why would a team pay to acquire him when they can just sign him in a couple of months? Montreal is in the same situation with Harris, we need to figure out a way to sign him, cause once Aug 15th comes we lose him and wasted a good pick. TBH if I am a GM of any team I would steer clear of any prospect who commits to the NCAA. IF I did select one in the draft and tried to sign them in the first 2 off season and was turned down, I would trade their right to hopefully get a pick back. The NHL really has to fix these types of loopholes.

The Weber Experiment
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>You place a player on LTIR and you are allowed to exceed the cap by however much the contract is. In Weber's case 7.9M. So that 7.9M counts against the 81.5M cap, but you would be allowed to go to 89.4M. You don't "gain" any extra cap, the only benefit to trading him would be to a team like Arizona who need to hit the cap floor. Only because he is owed 6M in actual cash for the rest of the deal so they would save some money, but don't expect a return. Look at the Boychuk trade as an example.</div></div>
I don’t think they get anything for the contract. But that’s where I’m confused, why does Friedman and the Minnesota beat reporter bring this up if it isn’t a thing. And why did a few years ago the Leafs acquire David Clarkson’s contract? I understand why Tampa did it with Seabrook because they essentially turned Johnson’s contract into LTIR money, and Boychuk got the Sabres to the cap floor, but I’m still confused then how the Clarkson contract worked for the leafs.

I know he kinda lost some feathers around the scouting community because of how good he looked last year (and how he apparently regressed), but Salomonsson when looking at some of his games seems to have all the tools to be a futur top 3/2 dmen. I feel like hes sorta disregarded due to the hype that was around him last year anf how he underperformed at the start of the season. Hes the type of guy Id take in the top 20.</div></div>
He didn't regress much imo, he just didn't improve. And he looks similar to Miroshnichenko to me, meaning all the raw tools but no tool kit to put it all together.
